Thank you. I just asked the General Manager and he said that there are slightly more than 2500. These cruises have had a lot more, but this is an abbreviated repo cruise, so there was less demand. Next week, first New England cruise, will be over 4000. The Breakaway has had the highest consistent capacity in the fleet.

seemoreroyals Posted August 16, 2022 #57 Share Posted August 16, 2022 Birds, noticed the Rumours album tribute is tonight at Syd Normans. If you like that type of music and have not already did it before it is definitely worth going to. I guess the same band is still performing that was there this past November.
CWGrable Posted August 16, 2022 #58 Share Posted August 16, 2022 Following along as we will be on Breakaway in Nov. I haven't been on this ship since 2018, so looking forward to seeing some of the updates. Thank you for sharing your vacation!
Rare ziggyuk Posted August 16, 2022 #59 Share Posted August 16, 2022 Hi Birds, I have heard some ships are allowing the Latitudes dining vouchers to be used in more that the official listed paces, is this the case on the Breakaway? Many thanks and have a fab time.

Rare BirdTravels Posted August 16, 2022 Author #64 Share Posted August 16, 2022 With 60% load, about 45 minutes after ship’s arrival, all of the umbrellas and palm trees (theat provide limited shade) were taken. Everyone else was out in the intense Belizean sunshine. At that point, the only refuge from the sun were clamshells renting for $45.
Rare BirdTravels Posted August 16, 2022 Author #65 Share Posted August 16, 2022 (edited) NCL’s fine dining restaurant across the fleet is Le Bistro. A fine French dinner at sea. Edited August 16, 2022 by BirdTravels
Rare BirdTravels Posted August 16, 2022 Author #66 Share Posted August 16, 2022 O.K., not into snails for dinner. La Cucina had wonderful Italian foods for dinner.

Sailing on Sep 18th and older reviews are mixed… When we did Velvet Dinner Show on Breakaway this past December we were a little disappointed. The music was good but we were expecting something comparable to the Cirque shows we had been to on other NCL sailings. The best part of the meal was the desert. Steaks were tough. The rest of the meal was so so. If he meal had of been better I think we would have enjoyed the show more.

Many thanks and have a fab time. The Bird did not get a letter. Since you asked, The Bird talked with the Cruise Next Manager today. The offer to allow vouchers to be used at non-listed restaurants is being done for specific itineraries. That is not being offered on the Breakaway. We must use our vouchers at the listed restaurants (Cagney’s/Le Bistro and Moderno/Cucina). And no compensation is being given for the loss of other benefits like the Behind the Scenes tour and dinner with the officers.

Well that sucks, does not seem fair that NCL thinks it's OK to refuse to honor the hard earned latitude perks at their discretion, yet believes that they don't owe us anything in return. SMH.... Thanks Velvet is the dinner show in the Spiegel Tent. It current cost $29.99 per person including gratuities. Pre-COVID, they had different pricing for different parts of the showroom. Always book Premium seats. Seating is first come first serve. The doors open 30 minutes prior to the published show time. Have your party in line 30 minutes before show time for the best seats. Remember, Haven and VIP guests are seated via a crew entrance before the main doors open, so even if you are the first in line, the best seats will already have been taken. Doors open at 5:15. From 5:15 to 6:40, people are seated, orders taken, and a three course dinner is served. Then the show starts and runs for less than an hour. it is important to understand the Velvet is not a Cirque show. It is designed to be a campy sensory overload of 70’s and 80’s music and dance. The number of cast members seem smaller than most productions, there are 9 in this cast. 2 aerialists, 2 dancers, 1 percussionist and 4 vocalists. There is much more singing in this show than usual, some of which is a bit campy. While there are a lot of people who like the show, this may not be for everyone.
