Refrigerators on Volendam

Anyone have any idea if there are refrigerators in the oceanview cabins? Or do you have to request one?   Thanks!

The Volendam only had refrigerators in the the suites.  For all other cabins you had to rent a refrigerator for cabin use.

Depending on your intended use for the fridge, it might not be ideal since they don't really cool down to normal fridge temps.  HAL said that my wife's insulin would be best kept at the medical facility for example.

Will the Volendam be back in service for the cruise you are going on?   She is currently hosting Ukrainian refugees.

The Volendam is supposed to resume sailing on the 24th of next month.

I pre-requested through my PCC in summer 2018. Didn't want to wait and find they had none left. The cost was very reasonable.

@jeff74 I hope it happens for you.  I’ve seen that note many times before.  I’m not convinced on that but I’ll be happy to admit I’m wrong.

I would hope they would not have taken our final payment for our 30 day Amazon cruise in November!   I am more concerned that the ship has been sitting there not moving for all this time!   Mechanical things need to run to keep in shape!

When you hire a fridge does anyone know if they’ll stock it up so it can be used as a (paid) mini bar ? Thanks

We are in a Vista Suite, any idea if there is one in those cabins?   Should be for the cost for a balcony cabin. Thanks.

It doesn't COME that way, but I don't know if it's possible.

There was in a Vista on the Zaandam. I can't recall if it was stocked as a minibar (that we asked them to empty) or just empty.

 

ETA: They really are a larger cabin; plenty of room for three adults including clothing storage.

Yes there is a refrigerator in the Vista suites.
