bhawks9 Posted August 16, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2022 If we are on a 10 day partial Panama Canal cruise (R/T from Fort Lauderdale) in November, and not a full transit do we have to test? The guidelines indicate testing required for Panama Canal transits and also states sailing on full Panama Canal transits.

I'd say no, which probably why they specifically call out the testing requirement for full Panama Canal transits. But you have 2 months after the new policy takes effect to confirm with someone's actual experience. I have a similar itinerary planned in January and if the new rules are still in place by then do not plan on getting tested unless someone specifically reports they couldn't board without being tested. Potstech Posted August 16, 2022 #3 Share Posted August 16, 2022 It is not a full transit and it is under 15 days so probably not. We are doing one in November also and are not planning to test right now.

Call Princess but I'd say NO as it specifically reflects "full" transit for testing. Have a great cruise. We loved our 2019 Panama Canal cruise on the Caribbean Princess. You'll likely get someone who's trying to interpret the same guidance we are and whose answer is just a guess.

Rare Ombud Posted August 16, 2022 #7 Share Posted August 16, 2022 Do not use chat to clarify as they can only repeat what it says online & the fallback is to state to test 2 days beforehand
bhawks9 Posted August 16, 2022 Author #8 Share Posted August 16, 2022 Thanks all! Would be a bit clearer if it said “full transit” before all references to Panama Canal Cruises!
