Princess Medallion Question????

Recommended Posts

Hi Princess Cruisers.

Doing a 7 nighter from Brisbane to the Barrier Reef in November.

Jumped on the Medallion and booked the 2 speciality restaurants on the Coral. All went well with the bookings however they were charged to our credit card. As we have OBC were we going to use it for the diners.

Does anyone know if this can be rectified please??.

Speciality dining booked pre-cruise is always charged in advance these days. It deters people who used to book for multiple days then not show up to most of them, thus denying other passengers the chance to book. It's the same with excursions although with those you can use OBC.

I don't think there is any way around the dining charge issue other than cancelling and waiting until you board to book. I'm not sure what happens re refunds if you cancel though.

As far as I can tell, there isn't a way of applying OBC to dining before boarding. There has been mention of a way of reserving and not paying, but I still think you need to pay before the cruise to keep those reservations. They allow you to apply dining credits, so it is rather dumb not to allow OBCs to be used for those bookings too.

I think that getting two reservations after boarding on a 7 nighter will be easy to manage. I don't know how long it takes for a card refund (should be a reversal to your card), but that would be the only option, unless you have other ways of spending your OBC aboard.

I would say that if you wait until you got onboard you could miss out as it gets busy and with the OBC you can buy something else or cash it out from the casino

I cancelled a couple and rebooked for different days - money was refunded to CC within a few days.
