Anyone else booked this cruise? We are booked with our 6 children (4.5.11.13.15.17 at time of cruise). I’m hopeful there will be at least some other kids on board! We have cruised regularly with the older 4 but usually 7-10 day cruises. We are also booked on Horizon November 25, 2022.

Hi there, yes Im booked, my PVP called me and it was an offer too good to pass up. DH will not be able to go and no one else can get the time off. Im solo and determined to go. Airline tickets are a doozy but I consider it a once in a lifetime adventure. Thinking of taking the train from Sydney to Brisbane instead of flying in to Brisbane as my preferred airline does not fly to Brisbane. Im very excited and hope we get a good roll call going. When I booked this cruise the Luminosa was still listed under Costa on CC.

Hi, we just booked this cruise as well. We have done longer cruises. Sailed on the Explorer OTS from Southampton when she first came to Oz in 2015 (58 days). We will also be doing 62 days b2b on Brilliance OTS in Feb 2024 as the cruises are all different.

It is a lovely trip from Sydney to Brisbane.  My friend from NY drives the scenic coastal route from Brisbane to Sydney.

I should have been on the Splendor this month-right now, but had to cancel, due to timing and housing issues-all resolved now, so I booked this with a fantastic casino offer. I was able to book a suite. This will be my 1st t/p cruise-what a great itinerary!

Widowed last year, I can finally do the cruise we were supposed to do in 2020. Hoping to meet lots of new friends as we go. I will be doing two other cruises in Canada and Alaska.

re Australia and regulations, if you are fully vaxed you will be fine.

Just booked a Casino offer and scored a Balcony for taxes and Fees! Looking forward to crossing the pacific since it not something most land lubbers do.  I'm 4 star on HAL but this will be my first Carnival. Also excited about the ship, ex Costa now Carnival and just out of dry dock.

Should be fun and tie me kangaroo down mate!

Has anyone given thought to Papeete excursions yet? We were there a few years ago but went straight from the terminal to the airport for a long hot boring wait. At least we won't have to worry about luggage. It's 40 years since I was in Noumea or Suva. They will have changed a bit. Kay

Depending how long you are in Papeete, the best excursion is by local ferry to beautiful Moorea Island.  You can book a day at a resort or book a taxi to take you on a tour of the island or hire a car.  There are lots of activities from which to choose - belvedere lookout, a public beach to swim, drive around the island stopping where you wish.

We visited Papeete just before the world came to end (a 2019 cruise 😆) and did the Catamaran trip - the Cat picked us up shipside then took us to the reef (which is very shallow) where we could snorkel.  I loved it and want to do it again.  I'm hoping Carnival do it (we were with RC last time).

Aren't we going to Moorea on the ship the next day?  Has the itinerary changed?

HI ALL. Good to be planning a cruise again. I'm also cruising East Coast US/Canada and Alaska with HAL so i will be away from home for seven weeks. Wonderful.

re Papeete I think the market is right by where we dock so think I'll do that. Everyone is still moaning about the high price of Tahiti, so I'll be lying low.

Hello all, Bonnie and Ed from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Looking forward to sailing most of the way home.  Flying over March 16 for a 9day/10day b2b on the Splendor.  Then visiting with friends in Sydney and Melbourne that we met on L.A to Singapore Oct 2019 cruise, before hopping on the Luminosa.  First time to Australia.    Any other Canucks on board?

Hi Everyone-

We just booked this cruise this past weekend. Cancelled our 14day LA-Alaska cruise on the Miracle in order to take advantage of a great offer. We are Stephanie and Lance from Redondo  Beach, Calif. super excited to visit Tahiti again. We were there Oct 2021.
Any avid snorkelers out there?

Anyone know which bay we dock in Moorea?

I’m looking to book a snorkel excursion with a local company in Moorea. . I’ll post what I find out if there’s interest.

Stephanie

Hello! We are booked . Planning to arrive in Sydney April 1st.  There is so little information and reviews on this ship.  I did see we need to bring our own shampoo.   Looking forward to this adventure.

Have fun planning your cruise next year.  I'm departing on Luminosa today on a 7 day cruise from Brisbane to Great Barrier Reef.  I have my soap, shampoo and conditioner packed, also Earl Grey tea bags, so I'm set.  There is shampoo in a wall dispenser.  Happy to answer any questions on my return.

Hi everyone.  I am booked on this cruise and going solo.  I will be flying into Sydney on April 3, spending a few days there, then flying to New Zealand for a week.  I plan on renting a car and driving from Auckland to Christchurch and seeing all the sites along the way.  This will be my first time in Australia and New Zealand, and I am very excited, though not looking forward to the long plane ride.

I just got back a few weeks ago from the Celebration transatlantic which was the longest cruise I had been on to date. Hoping I don't get sick of my own company 🙂

We are veterans of several transatlantic crossings but never the Pacific from Australia.  We crossed from Miami to Savona a few years ago on Luminosa (as Costa)...it was one of our most memorable and enjoyable sailings.  We look forward to seeing the "new" Luminosa and visiting ports we have only dreamed of and read about.  Will be spending pre-cruise days with Aussie friends we met on prior crossings and having them show us their beautiful coastline...then a pre-cruise cruise to the Great Barrier Reef on P&O Australia's Pacific Encounter.  Only negative will be the long flight from Orlando to Sydney, but a small price to pay for this opportunity. We are Gayle and Hank Cooper from Vero Beach, FL.
