Gday all,

My wife Jane and myself live on the coast between Sydney and Newcastle in Oz.

Flying out of Sydney early September staying in Honolulu for 5-6 days before landing in Seattle. Will then look around there for 5-6 days also before boarding on the 14th.

We have done 4 trips before with Carnival out of Sydney longest being 11 days to South Pacific Islands.

If we can help with any info regarding the east coast of OZ ask away.

Looking forward to saying hi to all and we will probably have a few questions re Seattle and Honolulu as it will be our first time to the US.

Gaz & Jane

In Seattle be sure to take the underground tour of original buildings. Have never seen anything like it, we really enjoyed it.

Hi Mary & Jim, will definitely look at the underground tour thanks for the tip.

Denise & Tony, yes interested in the cave tour in Puerto Princesa.

We are both not really into shopping when you can get anything you want delivered to your door from anywhere in the world now. Would rather see, feel and smell the sites that you cannot experience thru a computer monitor. Also talk to locals who can tell us more about life as they live in their environment.

Did anyone else book the Tracy Arm Fjord Glacier Explorer thru Carnival and then have it refunded (not the full amount yet) saying it was unavailable?

Hi everyone, so super excited for this cruise 😁 Tony and Denise here from Rhode Island. Yes, two ppl from the smallest state going on such an epic cruise.

Hoping we can tag team w a couple of other peeps and not get too lost lmao. So far we have arranged a tour for Tokyo and it’s for six ppl, so four spots remain. I would pay in advance and collect from you once onboard. This one is $100 USD per person and it spells out like this…

“Visiting today's most charming spots of Tokyo, feel the beat of this attractive city, guided by your experienced private guide. Through Tokyo's meticulously organized train/subway system we will cover not only the hot spots like Harajuku, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Asakusa or Akihabara but also any spot you would like to see.

We can tailor arrange our visiting spots according to your group's specific interest. If you have any other specific spot of interest than the listed spots, that will be added or substituted.
Note: Sumo training house visit is not a part of this tour.

As Tokyo is such a big city, it takes 2. 5 days to cover major tourism spots. Please select 4 to 5 spots for a day. We use public transportation and walk 2 to 3 ml(4 to 6 km) depending on the selected course.”

since we get to choose four spots, each couple would choose one they like to see ❤️ please notate that it takes public transport, so please be willing to do that and all that that may entail 😊 Also, it was specified that the public transport would be our individual cost, I think it’s quite minimal. They suggested $20 USD for subway and lunch costs.

EEEK, Can Not Wait.

I’m gonna look for a group tour for the underground cave systems in Puerto Princesa also, if anyone wants to tag along

Hi Susan, that’s wonderful! Would you like to do a whale watch in Icy Strait Point? It’s supposed to be spectacular whale viewing. We are going, prices seem somewhat high so maybe a group would help 😊

Hello, again! I love cruise roll calls because you can become friends with people before you even step foot on the ship & then you look forward to actually meeting them in person.

Bobby & I did a B2B to Alaska in September 2022. Everything in Alaska is expensive! We did a whale watching tour in Juneau through the ship excursions. We were on a boat that held approximately 75 people. We saw a lot of tails & blowholes in the distance. There were smaller boat private tours that could zip very closely to the whales once they were spotted and we realized that’s the kind of boat you really need to be on for whale watching. All the boats seem to communicate with each other and the smaller boats can get really close to the whales. The bigger boats seem to keep their distance. A lot of our fellow passengers did whale watching in Icy Strait Point & they were lucky enough to see Orcas. We would be very interested in doing whale watching in Icy Strait Point if it’s a small boat.
We already did this so we wouldn’t be interested in doing it again but if you want to see bears Ketchikan is the place to do that. In September the salmon are running and it’s pretty much guaranteed you’ll see bears catching salmon. We even saw bears with their cubs.
Really looking forward to our cruise, and meeting all the lovely people on our roll call.

John and Donna from Brisbane, if there if still two spots left on the Tokyo tour, we would be happy to join in.

Hello Fellow Cruisers,

We are excited to join you on this cruise! We are Theresa and Frank from Wisconsin. My aunt, uncle, and sister in law are joining us as well. We are also on the 7 day following to the GBR. Does anyone know- is there a well stocked library on the ship?

Hi Theresa. Bobby & I are doing the 7 days to GBR too. I’ve never seen great libraries on any ship I’ve been on & we’ve done 27 cruises. I’m taking 5 books with me & depending on what you like to read I’m happy to give my books away once completed.

There is a very small library on the ship with not many books.

Does anyone know when Carnival will start showing tours in Japan, the Phillipines and Indonesia. By now they should have them set up, I am a little bit worried of having any? Mary

I think we have of 3 -4 couples who are doing B2B ( TP and Great Barrier Reef) .   I would like to suggest we form a small group and look together to develop  private tours at the different ports, especially for Japan.  There could be some duplication on our parts, but with many eyes and different ideas we should come up with some good ideas/tours. ` We have a year  --  Any comments are welcome.

If you are interested add your name and email:

1. Frank and Sarah (SF) sfjakey  - cheerytrekker@yahoo.com   (Shopping is a low priority)

Note: You can add what type of tour you prefer and if there are any mobility issues,  so we can find tours that work for the whole group.  Thanks - Safe travels, Frank and Sarah

Hello, we are three sisters from Florida who will be doing the TP, then the GBR, then the next cruise on the Luminosa before going to Sydney for three cruises on the Splendor.  We sailed last year to Sydney and are looking forward to all these different ports as well.  We would be interested in group tours.

Still looking for hotel near ship terminal and airport for 2 nights in Brisbane before flight back to SFO. Also, one that will work to see some of the area.  Thanks

Have you googled Hotels in Brisbane? Also  Expedia.com has hotels listed, seem very nice and reasonable there.

I read that the airiport is approx. 8 KM from the port. It said nothing aat the port no public transportation there. Need to do Uber or taxi, not sure, but this is what I read. Check expedia for hotels, that should help you some.

I’m joining y’all on this fantastic sounding cruise.  Never done a transpacific before or visited Japan.  Very excited!! I’m traveling solo and am one of the senior group.  I lived in Phila. All my life but moved to Warminster, Pa. 4 years ago.  I’m interested in joining group tours and participating in onboard activities.  Look forward to meeting all real soon and having a great time!!
