Discovery late arrivals

Recommended Posts

Looks like an Edinburgh Flight didn't arrive until 04:45 this morning, making for a late arrival and a very late sail away from Palma this morning.🤫

These delays are becoming more and more common, only yesterday the Norwich flight made a short diversion to Cardiff international airport (again) to drop crew off. Before flying off to Palma.

Remind me again when you go Dave. You must be Gatwick. As I live in the sticks out on the coast of Suffolk we are at least 90- mins from the 2 closest Airports. Norwich and Stansted. Norwich I won't touch with a bargepole.  we have a 06:00 flight from Stansted next month in 27 days time.

Noticed the  delay in the Edinburgh flight RR.Due to fly at 15-15 but not in the air until 01-07

Do you know if the ship waited?

Glasgow flight out last week was 2 hours late taking off !!!!

Also on the way home on Tuesday this week was another hour-ish before leaving Palma !!!

Everything else about the cruise was quite good, just flights a bit of disappointment due to the delays.

Not sure if this has always been the case (or if its just me), but when I look at airport arrivals and departure boards online (various airports inc abroad), Tui flights don't appear to be showing actual take off time, arrival time, delays, etc. - only scheduled

Are they trying to make delays more difficult to spot?

Try looking for TUI fly orTOM and the flight number, different sites use different prefixes for Thomson.

I use Flightradar24 as well best site/app for flight tracking .

You might see TOM for TUI flights and it may have a BY prefix listed

TUI are using a number of partner airlines for their charter flights? We were supposed to be a TUI return flight but ended up with BA outbound and Sunwings(?) inbound

howmuch

TUi were showing take off time from Glasgow yesterday but unsure if that was scheduled or charter

  • 2 weeks later...

This flight , was as explained to the passengers , firstly delayed because of an electrical fault , then a medical emergency , then was now allowed to leave Bordeaux , because the plane was over weight .

the passengers were standing on the tarmac ready to fly at about 7pm , but the Canadian owners of Sunwing wouldn’t let the pilots fly to Palma and then back to Aberdeen .The planes first flight of the day , was from Aberdeen and was , 2.5 hours late. The passengers received one voucher of £7 to spend initially , when the plane continued to be delayed , the second voucher was not handed out because everywhere was closed , but paper cups were found , so the passengers could use the water fountain .A plane was diverted from Cardiff , but TUI had not told Edinburgh , it needed refuelled . It took off at 1:27am on arrival in Palma only one bus had been arranged , so the passengers then had to wait another 75 minutes for a second bus , eventually getting to the ship at about , 7:40am .The passengers did not know if the ship , would still be there or not .TUI , have blamed an “operational disruption “ and have advised passengers , to claim on their travel insurance !

A 3:25pm time turned into a 1:27 am departure , think it’s about an 1800 kilometres flight , several people didn’t travel , once it got to midnight .

Was wondering , if they will get away with it , by claiming it was a medical emergency , albeit it a very long one ?
