Seeking Recommendation - Boston Pre-Cruise Hotel Near an Old Town Trolley Stop, Restaurants, Shopping

Looking for a Boston Precruise Hotel Recommendation for 2 Nights last weekend of October near an Old Town Trolley Stop, Restaurants, and Shopping area.  We will be taking a taxi to the hotel from Logan Airport (not interested in public transportation with lots of luggage).  Wanting to do a brief walk to an Old Town Trolley Stop from a "nice" hotel, for the trolley tour around town the day prior to our cruise embarkation.

Almost any in town hotel will be less than a 10 minute walk from those needs.  Do you have a budget and exact dates and bedding requirements?

Without a budget a great option would be the Fairmont Copley Plaza. Incredibly central to both the historic sites and shopping in Back Bay and not as expensive as the top hotels in town like the Ritz and Four Seasons (but not super inexpensive either). A Boston legend and architectural gem.

Copley Square is a great location and walkable to all the sights, shopping, etc.

 

However, the end of October will be very crowded and expensive. A week earlier during the Head of the Charles race there probably wouldn't be any rooms in Boston at all.
