Dan...do you provide biz cards with your individual staff's name to offer as a method to promote them and expand your customer service/loyalty base for your business?

Every one of my employees has cards...It's a pride thing.

Fatih from Turkey our waiter

Russel from the Phillipines our asst. waiter

Omer from Turkey our waiter before we changed sittings ,but made a point of saying hello and checking on us every evening.

The most gracious maitre 'd from Turkey I cannot spell his name.

They made us feel so special and treated my disabled daughter like a princess. I really do miss them all.

Gypsea..........We've had both Goran and Zoran. The Zoran we know (from Dubrovnik) was the terrific "piano playing waiter" working in the Normandy on the Summit. When we saw him last, May 05' he told us he would be getting married and moving to New Jersey !! But, we were just on the Infinity and Angel, the Specialty Restaurant Manager, told us he was supposed to be coming back on the Infinity. He was our favorite !!

M favorite waiter of all time would have to be Severino from India. I had him originally on Galaxy and then again this past cruise on Century - mind you it was a total fluke! He is excellent and deserves lots of praise. I know he is currently on vacation so wherever he ends up next is very lucky to have him.

Savio, our assistant waiter on Century was excellent (I know he is up for promotion right about now)

One who deserves special mention, but refueses to give out his name. He refers to himself as the "Sushi Man" on Infinity. He spent 30 minutes looking through everything (up to and including the trash) to find my younger brother's very expensive mouth peice. He deserves the biggest props of all!

Our assistant maitre'd on Infinity in August was amazing. I wish I could remember his name bc he was truly excellent - he payed attention to the little details.

And yes, we write novellas on our comment cards to praise all of the amazing things and ways the staff make our vacation fantastic.

I always ask special people on the cruises to write their names down for us so that we can write them up on the comment cards at the end. And if they were truly special we write a letter at the end of the cruise.

I have a couple I would like to add.

Waiters:

Pinto from India - He was so incredible I am going to book a Mercury cruise again just to visit with him.

Krasimir from Bulgaria - A true profesional. By the third night he knew what we wanted before we would order, lol. I challenged him one night to see if he knew what i would order. He got it right on! (Except that I wanted two soups, lol.)

Martin from Czech Republic - Another true profesional. Very young. Wonderful energy. He not only had a knack for knowing our tendencies, he had excellent recomendations for things to do at port the next day.

Asst Maitre D':

Sasha from Poland - He was very popular on our cruise. What do you want? He got it done!

Steve from Bulgaria - Working with Krasimir, he really took care of me on my birthday. Thank you Steve!

Cruise Director:

Dru Pavlov - He really was great. He set a tone that was fun and lively. Very approachable and genuine.

I would like to mention our room stewards as well. Unfortunately I can't remember thier names. (Joseph from ?) Yuck! They were so good at staying out of the way, yet keeping on top of everything!

There are so many more crew members that deserve mention. Celebrity truly excels in this department. I can't wait until I book my next cruise with them!

Zoran the gorgeous piano playing waiter married one of the English girls from the spa. In Sept 05 they were both on the Infinity and he was such a delight again. Is Angel now on the Infinity - it was the lovely French Maitre D on the Infinity speciality restaurant in Sept. We had Angel as Asst Maitre D on the Millie specialisty in Sept 02 and then as Maitre D Speciality on the Summit in April 05.

My favourite has to Kara (sp?) who we met as our sommelier on the Summit in April 05. Whenwe came out of dinner first night on the Infinty Sep 05 there he was greeting us by name and he had been promoted to head. He was fantastic (and we only drink a modest bottle a night) The night we went down to the Speciality he came down to make suer we were OK and had the wine we wanted

And wish we could again have the pleasure of meeting up with "our" Zoran.

I never fail to recognize 'my' waitstaff and cabin stewards by name on the comment cards. Most of the (itsy bitsy) free space is allotted to praising them to high heaven. :)

Kudos, especially, to:

CONSTELLATION 11/10/05 sailing:

AGNELO, the best cabin steward EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DENNIS and GEDE, our wise-cracking waitstaff team from Turkey ;)

GALAXY 1/9/06 sailing:

QUINTAS and ISIK, our entertaining, ever-smiling, and mischievious waiters from India

MADALAINA, fabulous masseuse from Romania

CARLA, cabin steward from Jamaica

Hi Lois !

I totally agree about Daniel. He would get my vote for the "Best Of" Hotel Directors.

Do you know what ship he is on now ? I do not think he is on Summit currently.

Nearly 2 more days until my Century Cruise. Is there anyone you would like me to say hello to Lois ?

Hi Nicki !

Gede was our Waiter a long time ago (either on Summit or Century). He was excellent, and did have a very good sense of humor. I am glad to hear he is still with Celebrity, and on Constellation.

Good morning Andy, thanks so much for offering:)

The only person I know who is "always on Century" is

Erol Grey, bartender in the Rende-Voux Lounge:D Being that

I haven't sailed her for a year, not sure who else has come and gone...

(crew wise).

But I know Erol will know who I am......so send him my love

and good wishes!

Thanks again!

My last 'X' cruise was on Horizon two years ago and we had the absolute best cabin attendant, Yolanda from the Philipines and our incredible waiter, Jesus from Columbia. We wrote glowing comments about them on the comment cards, as well as sending letters to Celebrity.

Yolanda was finishing up her contract with one more cruise to go after ours and was then going home to see her twin 21 year old daughters - one destined for Med school and the other for Law school. We tried to keep in touch but it was difficult when she went back home to the Philipines. If anyone knows where she is now, I'd be very grateful!

Thanks Danno, for an excellent topic!

Hi Danno!

You were a huge help to me in planning that Horizon cruise and I will be forever grateful to you. Now my husband is hooked on cruising and although we've now tried Princess, Royal Caribbean and HAL, we still like Celebrity the best. Unfortunately, like you, we are having a hard time finding a Southern Caribbean itinerary that works for us. We would also prefer a 10 (or 12) day, leaving on a Friday or Saturday, from South Florida. When you find one, let me know? ;) Good luck with that!

My favorite cruises have all been on smaller ships - Horizon, HAL's Rotterdam V, Carla Costa - and least favorite on the monsters - Grand Princess, RCCL VOS, HAL Westerdam.

How's the weather up there? We haven't had much snow down here by the lake (Oakville) since early January. It feels like April today!

Thanks again!

Karen

Beautiful here today...just got back from lunch, in a spring jacket!!

At least you had one cruise on Horizon...the next generation of cruisers will not have that luxury.
