Dear fellow guest. When standing at reception with a (really minor) grievance please don't raise your voice so even a person with reduced hearing and socially distanced can hear you. You make yourself look and sound a) like a snob and b) like a child.

Telling a receptionist you don't believe her, i.e calling her a liar, is abusive imo.

/rant over

I felt the same here (on the Summit) Linda when a passenger went off on a Head Waiter when they weren’t sitting in “their spot”!  Their table was actually only one over and not in any special spot. AND the menu was identical! 😂😂

We head ashore. It's now a glorious day. There are many, many bars and pubs in downtown St John's but sadly not a single pharmacy. The one in walking distance is closed on a Saturday, as is the post office. You can tell where there's free WiFi by the number of people phone gazing ouside venues. Tomorrow is St John's Pride. It starts as we are sailing away 🌈

It's Rosh Hashanah, Jewish New Year, and I'm a long way from home. I'm thinking of my wonderful family and dear friends and sending EVERYONE here as well the hopes for a blessed and peaceful year ahead with good health and a shed load of happiness.

L'shanah tovah tikatevi v’taihatemi ("May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year").

It was pointed out to me that Ambassador had posted to their FB page. I copy below :

An update regarding Ambience’s Grand Canada, Greenland & Iceland sailing

We have in the last couple of hours received information from our local port agent that Charlottetown will not be able to accept Ambience. This is due to the severe damage that has been caused by Hurricane Fiona and that there is still no power to most of the surrounding area.

Therefore, we have no other option but to cancel our call to Charlottetown tomorrow and spend the day at sea. We will then proceed directly to Cap aux Meules where the current weather is looking good for our tender operation on Wednesday 28th September 2022.

We do sincerely apologise to our guests on board for any disappointment and inconvenience caused by these changes but hope they understand this was unavoidable and outside of our control due to the damage caused by the severe weather conditions.

---------

It was then pointed out to me that we had changed direction.

Guests have yet to be informed about Cap aux Meules or the change of direction.....

Where are you now?  According to Cruise Mapper, Ambience appeared to be going forwards from St John's to ?, then turned back on itself, now forwards again. 0800 27 Sept. UK time. Still list Charlottetown as destination???

Thanks for all your information & pics.

Day 16 / 34 at sea

Good morning and thanks for following.

Visibility very low. Paid 99p for more info. Discovered what would have been our route to Charlottetown.

Captain Egil along with Hotel Director Joao and Guest Experience Manager Ronald are holding a Q & A at 11am.

@Pearl131313 you have the same information as me! At this moment in time we are scheduled to head to Cap aux Meules for tomorrow.

A fellow guest has a GPS which is very accurate but basically we are in the North Atlantic...... making circles?

Thank you for the detailed and very interesting review, which I have been following.  I had not been aware of this cruise line (I am in the US), but intrigued by the itinerary and the length of the voyage - how nice! For an older ship, it looks to be beautifully maintained and updated with great food and entertainment.  Thank you again and enjoy your voyage!
