We would like to see the ruins during our cruise stop. We have never booked a cruise excursion...Will there be time to do a little shopping before we have to get on the ship....I want to make sure I have time to restock my vanilla! Thanks in advance!

Do you mean cruise excursion to ruins on the mainland?

Is Cozumel your only port of call?

Cozumel is NOT the place to do ruins... Belize and Costa Maya are the places.  Cozumel only has a tiny ruin on the island, and there is a ruin Tulum over on the Mainland where you take a ferry and a bus... I think both of them are a waste of time, personally.  Tulum is small and very unimpressive in the realm of ruins, and its roped off.  It also gets busloads of tourists, like hundreds of people a day, so it is very crowded.

If you want to see real interesting Mayan ruins, look at other ports.
