Is it hard to get a table for 2 all week?

We are on the Navigator next Jan and I was wondering how hard it is to get a table for 2 for the week, early seating? Any tips? Is it always the same table location, or do they move you around night to night?

You can request that when you book your cruise. Since the # of 2 person tables is limited, there are no guarantees. If when you get on your cruise and find out you didn't get assigned to a table for 2, you can go to the dining room that first afternoon and try to get it changed.

 

Once assigned to a table, that is your table for the whole week. You don't move around.

If you don't get your own private table, you can always skip the dining room and eat buffet at the windjammer. Or you may find that it's quite enjoyable getting to know your tablemates! Maybe we've been lucky, but had always felt dinner was one of the highlights of our cruises--comparing days/excursions/luck in the casino,etc... You may be surprised!

As some have already noted, there may be a limited number of tables for two, but if you request one and get it, it should be yours for the entire cruise. Once you are assigned to a specific table, it is yours for the week, barring unusual or extenuating circumstances.

How do you find out the size of your table? We got our docs, and know we have late seating (which we requested) ... but when you board, won't they just tell you a table number? Or do they tell you the size as well?

You will get a table number on your sea pass. Once onboard go to the dining room and check out your table. That is when know. Last cruise asked for a table for 4 and was surprised to see our table number was a table for 12!! We didn't change and loved eating with tablemates from Scotland.

Like someone else posted, tipping goes a long way. We wanted a table for two but didn't get one. We later talked to a couple who also wanted a table for two and got one. We asked how so lucky he said he tipped!

 

We liked the windjammer much better. Most nights we were the only ones there, especially on formal nights. Since the cruise was for our anniversary we wanted to be alone. But we are looking forward to meeting new people this time around!
