Time Schedule for Port Liberty to EWR Question

We are a family of 8 scheduled to arrive back at Port Liberty on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 6:00 a.m.    We will be flying home from Newark.  We can purchase a flight at 11:30 a.m. or 1:47 p.m.      The 11:30 flight is quite a bit less costly.    We will have to take taxis or UBER to the airport.  We can walk off with our luggage if necessary.    Wondering what those of you who have been on this ship in a similar situation think.  There can be a lot of traffic, but it is on a Sunday.  What would you advise?   What time would you suggest we leave the ship?   Any information/advice is welcome.  Thank you.

Cape Liberty is the name, Port Liberte is the name of terminal in Jersey City for ferry service between NJ & NY.

 

You should be fine with the 11:30 flight. EWR is about 10 miles from Cape Liberty. You can do self assist walk off if needed. I experienced problems with taxi dispatch last December, allow 30 minutes, for pickup, if you travel via taxi.

 

Car services pick up area has overhead hanging numbers. Exit the terminal to the left then walk right to the pick up area. If you use taxi, it is better to exit to your right (towards the parking garage) and walk towards the garage. You will see the crosswalk near the garage glass door entrances(near zone 10). Go across 2 crosswalks to the taxi lot. A dispatcher is there, hopefully it is better organized than December 2021.

I would get off the ship as soon as I could. I rather waste time at the airport than worry about missing the flight. 
My issue is 8 pax. Are you going to hire a van, or will you take taxis? Make sure you arrange it in advance.

We are just thinking 2 or 3 UBERS.   Or taxis.    We could also pre-arrange a couple of vehicles from Carmel or some other service.  It is a 3 generational family trip so we don't all have to go in the same vehicle.
