jbcallender Posted October 17, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2022 (edited) I have seen vidIeos of the cruise terminal area in Papeete that refers to shops and vendors across the road. Are their shops that sell wine? I would like to buy several bottles to take on board. Our ship departs at midnight, we arrive at 6:30 p.m. to board. Will shops be open do you think? Petoonya Posted October 27, 2022 #3 Share Posted October 27, 2022 (edited) @jbcallender There is a very nice, but spendy wine vendor about 5 blocks from the port, Wine XS. But looking online they close at 6pm. You'll be happier anyway going to Carrefours in Faaa despite the cost of the taxi ($25 each way from port). But if you're coming from the airport Carrefours will be right on the way..... Wonderful store, fabulous wine selection. Open till 8:30. Just in case you're departing on a Sunday, no liquor sales on Sundays. Edited October 27, 2022 by Petoonya
dandee2 Posted November 10, 2022 #4 Share Posted November 10, 2022 La Cave de Tahiti (1 block west of the cathedral) OR Champion Grocery Store further down the road. https://www.lacavedetahiti.pf/
Rare Tahitianbigkahuna Posted November 11, 2022 #5 Share Posted November 11, 2022 Carrefours will have the best selection and price. There is one within walking distance from the IC Tahiti and one across the street from the Hilton Tahiti.

chubbypiggy Posted January 15, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 15, 2023 In mid-April, we have a cruise stop in Papeete (8:30 a.m. to the next day at 5 p.m.). This is our 1st time visiting South Pacific. Found 5 hours tour doing West Coast Tour for $154 or 5 hours tours doing East Coast for $71. Just curious why the East Coast tours are less than 50% price of the West Coast tour? Are there more things to see at the West Coast? Any suggestions on what we can do for our 1.5 days there? We don't like to do water activities or 4WD tours. And definitely not physically fitted to do bike or hiking. ☺️ Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

rogueriver Posted February 20, 2023 #9 Share Posted February 20, 2023 Our cruise will be stopping in Papeete on a Sunday in April and I've heard that many of the shops may be closed. Do any of you know if that is the case for the market/shops near the cruise port?
