Munich Connection Time

We will be flying from LAX to Athens via Munich in January.

Our layover is 80 minutes. Is this enough time?

Thanks. Follow up question. Do we have to handle our bags in MUC or are they checked through?

They will be checked through to Athens. But you will have to go through Passport Check (Immigration) at MUC.

Munich is one of the few airports in Europe that I would feel comfortable with this connection, so I am a second vote for "You'll be fine". Right up at the top of the list of most efficient major hubs in Europe, in my experience (along with Helsinki and Zurich).

Sorry to hijack this thread a tad but what's your take on CDG or FRA, as connections that are approx  1hr- 1.5hrs? I'm still planning!!!😊

Frankfurt is the next tier of efficiency, in my experience. Not quite as good as Munich, but pretty darn close. CDG...that's somewhere I don't connect through often, but it's definitely another step down in efficiency and you'll want extra time there.

I would want a minimum of 90 minutes in both...particularly if landing in the morning local time. Tons of long haul flights arrive between 7am and 10am.
