Cruising from an Australia Port

Recommended Posts

Hi

we have an Azamara cruise from Fremantle over Christmas.

can’t find anything on the Azamara website, but think that I have read

the Australian authorities require a self test.  Is this correct?

thanks

Eileen

This is from the P&O site: Azamara requirements would be similar, and it's likely they will send you an email prior to boarding with a similar message:

Pre-Departure COVID-19 Testing

Guests are required to return a negative COVID-19 test result prior to boarding.

Guests must complete:

o  A self-administered RAT (Rapid Antigen Test) 24 hours prior to boarding or a PCR test 48 hours prior to boarding

If your test is negative – ensure you carry evidence of your negative test result with you. This should either be a photo with the date and time the test was completed next to your government issued ID and negative RAT test, or proof of the text message received from the relevant laboratory or health authority in the case of a PCR result. Our check-in staff will randomly be asking guests for proof of negative test results prior to being permitted to board. Please also record this negative test result in the VeriFLY App.

If your test is positive – please call us on 13 24 94. You will also need to follow reporting requirements of local health authorities.

For more information visit our COVID-19 Testing Requirements FAQs

you need to buy a RAT from a pharmacy.

Do the test within 24 hours of your boarding time..

Open your passport at the photo page or use a drivers licence

Get another phone and set it to the date and time screen.

Now take a photo on your own phone with all three things in it.

SHOW THAT WHEN BOARDING.

It is different for every cruiseline so do not assume it is the same.

Friends are going on Azamara in Feb and at the moment they have been advised they need the booster as well as the first 2 shots. Other cruiselines do not require this.

So PLEASE get the information from Azamara.

Yes Federal and State regulations for Covid must be followed by cruise passengers. Then cruiselines can add their additional requirements for passengers, which is why you must get written rules from Azamara.

I would wait until closer to date of departure in February, because rules are changing all the time at a rapid paste.

BTW I've had all vaccines, including the booster for my own benefit,

Don't worry Azamara will send a email with the current requirements before your Christmas cruise . Royal is only up to November cruises . So far RAT 24 hz self administered is ok.

We boarded on Coral Princess in Sydney late September.  It was and still is a requirement to do one of two tests. We did the Rats which we took a photo of the result and included our name written on a piece of paper alongside.  It was downloaded onto their check in app.  You have to attest you have done it and they will probably ask you again going through the boarding process. You will have the test saved on your phone or iPad to show them if necessary.
