Rare BermudaBound2014 Posted November 20, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2022 Admittedly I haven't been keeping up on the Prima class, but this was published today so I'm assuming it's relatively new news. Sorry if this has already been posted, I looked back 3 pages... https://www.cruisehive.com/next-two-prima-class-norwegian-cruise-line-ships-to-be-delayed/88334
Rare eileeshb Posted November 20, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2022 Not terribly surprising given the current supply chain issues world wide, between rising materials costs, general labour shortages and the ongoing shutdowns in China not to mention the war in Ukraine, I don’t see anything reverting to “normal” anytime soon. I’m currently looking at catalogs for 4 brands to order products for next winter at work and there’s been some fairly eye-watering increases in pricing. One of our suppliers is pulling production out of Asia and back to Europe because avoiding those import costs more than makes up for higher labour costs. There’s construction companies in Ireland closing due to the materials cost increases and that’s a mix of imported and domestically produced materials.
Rare cruiseny4life Posted November 21, 2022 #3 Share Posted November 21, 2022 (edited) Interesting...I caught up with the all things Viva thread last week. Posters were speculating then that three and four would be delayed. Now they are. Call me, not flabbergasted. Thanks for sharing the unofficial "official" news.
