Celebrity Beyond / Sky Suite (S1) category...port or starboard...best deck...etc?

We are sailing in a Sky Suite (S1) on 12/1/23 10-day Southern Caribbean sailing on Celebrity Beyond.  Trying to determine which cabin to choose.  Decent amount of availability right now.

Wondering...

  • Port side or Starboard?
  • Best deck? (avail on 10 and 11 primarily for the non-Aft Sky Suites)
  • Do elevator banks in Midship cause a lot of noise? (e.g., is 11207 too close the elevators?)
  • Will Magic Carpet affect view/shade (it obviously will be S3 Sky Suites)

Thank you in advance!

Welcome back to posting on CC! I know the name of this board would make you think it was the right place for your questions, but for such detailed info you should re-post to the Celebrity forum:

I looked at the Deck 11 floorplan and see that the elevators face each other and not the open hallway. The only complaint I ever heard anyone make about being close to an elevator was hearing the "ding" all night (on a HAL ship), but this arrangement should muffle that noise. Have never heard noise of the elevators moving in the shaft (just lost in the background of ship-noise).

Port or Starboard is so individual! Look at your cruise's route (probably a round trip, right? so you'll be east one direction and west the other). Think about which way you might want sunrise vs. sunset...

The others I can't pretend to answer. Have never sailed Celebrity, the Beyond, or in a Sky Suite!

Sometimes that elevator ding can be puzzling.  I was on Celebrity Infinity, not near the elevators, and I occasionally heard that ding.  Then one time I opened my cabin door, and the door to the service area across the hallway was open.  And inside was a service elevator.  The source of my ding.  EM
