Leela Posted March 7, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2006 I'm looking at the menu, and it says Grey Goose Vodka Chambord Pineapple Juice orange twist garnish I usually make it with a jigger of vodka, a half jigger of Chambord, and a jigger of pineapple juice. Experimenting with the proportions to find the ultimate combination sounds like a nice fun evening! :)
Rare Lois R Posted March 7, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2006 Leela, I will take one if you are making them:D
GramaFran Posted March 7, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2006 My DH makes them the same ** 2 jiggers of Vodka (any brand) 1 jigger of Chambord 1 jigger of pineapple juice - shake with ice and pour in martini glass with a twist of orange peel. This make 2 nice sized drinks - and they go down so smoothly. Lois R - come over anytime and the Martini is on us. Francine

Francine I know a "jigger" is 45ml (1 1/2 fl oz), but all of a sudden the thought of drinking something with "jiggers" in it struck me as funny. You know, in that "I've heard that word a thousand times and all of a sudden it sounds weird to me" kind of way. Tom
GramaFran Posted March 7, 2006 #7 Share Posted March 7, 2006 Tom: How about "shotglass" instead of jigger. I bet most young people would not even know the word jigger, but everyone knows about shot glass. Shooters are just a shot glass.

marksbrat Posted March 13, 2006 #9 Share Posted March 13, 2006 Thanks for the recipes. I have made it once before and couldn't quite get the balance right. So I'll try some of these:D don't mean to intrude on your thread... I'm a bartender, so I thougt I'd give my suggestions too!! :) first, there are several different sized jiggers... from 3/4 oz on up (at my bar ours is 1 3/4 oz) ALWAYS use a premium vodka, especially when making martini's of any sort. Cheap vodka will not only change the taste, but will give you a terrible hangover!! lol!!! My reciepe is as follows... the size of your martini glass needs to be taken into account also... approx. 3 oz. Belvedere .5 - .75 oz chamboard splash of pineapple juice (we use Dole) I garnish with a lemon twist You just have to play around with it happy mixing!!! If you like rum, I have a great recipe for a martini with Bacardi limon!!!

PaperSniper4 Posted March 17, 2006 #17 Share Posted March 17, 2006 This is my favorite martini.:D I would love to make it for a friend. Does anyone have the recipe? Folks, there is but one martini, it's made with English gin and Italian dry vermouth, at the ratio of about 3-6 to 1. It is shaken, not stirred and NEVER has any fruity or sweety stuff in it!!! Okay, I'll calm down now............ It's morning and a long time until martini time.........
