havanadaydreaming Posted December 21, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 21, 2022 Looking at booking a cabin on the Celebration in Q1. im having a hard time not jumping on a casino offer for $100 inside + drinks + obc. that said, what deck would y'all recommend for a cabin? no wrong answers...i just wondered which location makes sense for you. almost all floors are still available. since im usually a balcony guy i usually like the higher the better for the view arriving and departing ports. well, that won't be a factor this cruise. The Celebration seems to have soooooo many things to do im not at all sure which decks to consider. front, back, middle doesnt matter too much to me. i am ok with a cabin near the elevator, since it makes it more convenient. i can handle the "noise" but im not adverse to walking a little bit to have less traffic in hallway near my door. Thanks all!!!
hard_eight Posted December 22, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2022 Our PVP put us on deck 14, sandwiched between other cabins to avoid noise. Jan 8th, we'll see how he did 🙂
Rare jam19872016 Posted December 22, 2022 #3 Share Posted December 22, 2022 Elevators are a big hassle on Celebration. I would pick 14 if you think you will spend most of your time on the upper decks that way you are close but not right below Lido. Or deck 10 if you will do more inside the ship. Again close but not directly above the action.
ZoeyVictoria Posted December 22, 2022 #4 Share Posted December 22, 2022 The very aft cabins on Deck 14 on the Mardi Gras are close to the base of the Bolt (where it is attached to the framework of the ship) Vibrations and noise from the Bolt - we could actually tell when the “boost” button was used. Ilovesailaway Posted December 23, 2022 #5 Share Posted December 23, 2022 I'm booked in an inside on deck 4 and I don't take elevators while on a cruise. It will be like climbing a mountain that week lol. But I got a great deal as a solo booking a gty interior.
keels81 Posted December 23, 2022 #6 Share Posted December 23, 2022 (edited) I was on a Cove Balcony on 5 on the Celebration and would gladly book an interior there again and again and twice on Sunday. It's easy to walk up to six, walk down to the gangway to get off in port and because you're low, it's easier to get an elevator to go all the way to the top. I was in a premium interior on 5 on Mardi Gras, so that's why I'd definitely pick 5 for an interior cabin. Hoosierpop Posted December 23, 2022 #7 Share Posted December 23, 2022 We are on deck 5 and love it. We rarely go to lido and spend 90% of our time in decks 6-8.
DGNewton Posted December 24, 2022 #8 Share Posted December 24, 2022 Pick what makes sense or get the TBD if you can. We were on board the Celebration for the Nov 27th sailing (balc0ny 10422) and rebooked her during that sailing while lounging on the Lido deck with the Cyber deal sale. We ended up picking the inside room guarantee ss TBD. Well they assigned it within 2 weeks. Inside Havana room - so now we get to try those perks but don't consider that much ont he Excel ships. We cruised the Mardi Gras Twice last year with Balcon rooms. One was on the Lido deck just forward of the pool and the Other, again deck 10 - 10412. The 2 deck 10 balcony (look at the PDF Ship Deck Plan) had the beds closest to the window as they alternate every other room. It depends which side the door is on. But the balcony is longer (depth wise). Again, you can figure from the deck plans - it is worth planning. On deck you could see the balconies below and forward as the lower floors extend wider by the ships design. On the Mardi Gras we used the balconies a bit more, but never used it on the Celebration. In the past, my wife and I used to book inside rooms all the time. We just sleep, change, and clean in them. We're out and bout except for a quick nap before diiner. So, save the money and get whatever you want. I see nothing wrong with inside rooms - but for 2 people only. Going forward my wife and I will adopt back to the inside rooms. We do like adjusting our inside room to the Lido deck forward for ease to the pools, snacks / food, ice, etc.... As far as the elevators they are what they are small, crowded, and queued up with many that have no elevator etiquette m- some very rude. I felt for the elderly with scooters and would help them where I could. Enough of that and don't let that get to you - ignore the AZZES. Enjoy your cruise - you'll love so much to do and places to see shoes and eat. Just get to shows 30 mins in advance and you'll be fine. Book your restaurants in advance before boarding and pay - that way you're locked in as they sell out. The Teppanyaki Grill is the best - - they only have 3 tables that seats 8 - 3 dinner times per night (5:30-7-9:30 - think that was the times). We pick 5:30. Formal night is Monday (Fillet Migon) and Friday (lobster and prime rib) The last thing, we are huge Eden Parker fans as he is the Piano Bar Player we have cruised with and this is our 5th cruise with him in 2 years.
