The caption just announced that the current forecast is for 45 knot winds and 15 foot wave swells and therefore we need to remain docked in Ensenada today.

He is projecting a 9am arrival into San Pedro tomorrow.  Passengers and crew are now permitted to go ashore in Ensenada with an all aboard time of 4pm.

Please let us know if he updates your estimated arrival time for tomorrow.

I am glad for you that you get to go to Ensenada, did they reschedule tours or just on your own?Enjoy your day either way!

I am however, sad for us that embarkation will be delayed as I am ready to head to sunny Hawai'i.

A crew member messaged me that the Crown docked long enough early this morning to pick them up (change of shift).  It's pretty windy where I am.  My friend in Temecula (San Diego) said that there was thunder, heavy rain, and lightning alerts.  You should have some pretty awesome views on the way up.  So much excitement.

Now, photos of project runway please.

Glad your friend made it on board!

What is project runway?

Carnival Radiance just made a very long announcement but I couldn’t make out the exact words.

Buy a nice bottle of Scotch, Tell them to leave it in cabin D714 for the May 23rd sailing.......

Hurricane Ian interrupted 2 ports for me on Celebrity last year. Wife came home with some jewelry and clothes, I ended up with 16 and 19 year old scotches. We had quite a bit of OBC to use on that cruise, and only had excursions at the two ports that were canceled.

Lucky you.  Hurricane Ian provided you with some Scotch and wife with new clothes and jewelry.  Ian provided us with a missing carport and roof since we were in the bullseye of Ian.  LOL

The winds are crazy in CA today. Love the sun but not the fierce wind.

We were actually luckier than that. On the ship we had power, not so at home (South Daytona). Power was out for 3 days, it was back on by the time we arrived home. The three blocks west of me flooded. Other side of US 1 from me flooded. I am probably 250 yards from the intracoastal on this side of the state.  We are on a ridge, so water never threatened us. Did lose a fridge/freezer of food, and the old fence that I keep fixing after every hurricane really needs to be replaced now.

Arctickitty, I have one more question, are there power outlets on each side of the bed around the night stands?    My DH uses a CPAP machine so I am wondering if there will be an outlet for him to plug in his machine.   THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

I am hoping you have a smooth sail back to San Pedro.    Thank you so much for taking all of this time during your vacation to keep all of us updated.    You have done a terrific job detailing everything.

No one has said anything other than 0900 arrival into San Pedro but I’ll post if the internet behaves (it’s been spotty today) if there’s any change.

I don’t know if they rescheduled any tours.  Not many people have been getting off and I haven’t seen the shuttle busses close to us, just at Carnival Radiance.  I checked our account and they refunded our “money” for the zip line  tour.

There should be a European outlet under the bed or near the bed table/lamps.  You will need an adapter that includes....a outlet for the European lamp plug AND your US CPAP plug.  Lots of choices on Amazon.  Mine is outdated so don't have a sample.  Someone else will provide a link (I'm sure).

We looked for but did not find the fabled outlet under or between the bed(s).  Charts we looked at online said the Crown only has American outlets in the cabin and those are what we found.

In our cabin the main outlet is on the exterior wall by the desk on the balcony side.  It is too long for my regular charging cables to reach to the bedside table from there so we use an extra long cable for one person to charge a phone and then the person on the other side of the bed uses a battery pack.

For my medical machine we use the outlet behind the TV.  It’s a tight fit to reach to the bed so we unplug it from the machine when it’s not in use so that we don’t trip.

I have heard that you can request an extension cord from your steward but we did not ask since we could make it work without.  I have also heard that you can bring your own extension cord as long as it doesn’t have a surge protector in it.  People have mentioned using magnet hooks to run the cord across the ceiling.

I will try to remember to take some pictures after we pack.

Before this cruise we looked at charts of cruise cabin outlets and Crown was listed as having only American style outlets in the cabin.  If there is one of a different style, we haven’t found it and we did look quite a bit.  We found beer under our bed but no outlets.

I will give Good Spirits bar its proper review in due time (it will take a whole series of posts) but I do want to highlight the gift they surprised us with after we finished drinking their whole menu, a pair of Good Spirits whiskey glasses to help us remember this dream of a vacation.

Their official “cocktail experience” menu has 19 cocktails and we drank 18 of them.  They gave us credit, though, because the missing cocktail contains limoncello and the ship is “out” of limoncello.  Well, they at least don’t have any in stock any where.  We have heard that Sabatini’s possibly has it but that they will only serve it to you if you are dining in Sabatini’s (yes, we tried going to Adagio to ask for it).  But, we drank more than 18 cocktails from Good Spirits as Artem likes to make up his own drinks and we let him do that for us several times.  He would have us pick one ingredient and then he would dream up the rest.

What a clever idea.  I am surprised to hear about no outlet near bed.  How are the lamps plugged in?

You are very resourceful.

Isn't there a European outlet near the desk?  ALL Apple products are dual voltage.  So are most medical devices.

You can ask your cabin steward for an extension cord and distilled water when you board, but it’s better if you pre-order them. That way you’re sure they will be there waiting for you in your cabin when you board. Either way, it’s free of charge.

To pre-order an extension cord and distilled water for a CPAP machine, go to the Princess website then click on “Booked Guests” at the top of the page.

Log into your account using either your login credentials or your booking number.

Once you’re logged in, click on “Access Cruise Personalizer”.

Select “Check-In”, then scroll down to the “Guest Check-in Status” section.

Click on “Dietary Requests”, and tick the box next to “Distilled water (for CPAP machine use ONLY)”.

Then click on the “Send Dietary Restriction” button.

Your distilled water and an approved extension cord will be waiting for you in your cabin when you board. If it’s not there, check with your room steward.

Alright you guys, because of this thread, we took the furniture apart and this time we found panty hose.

And we also found the as-promised European outlet behind the bed.  The two lamps are wired together to plug into it.

You won’t be done with me for awhile!!!  I might not post every day but it will take me a lot of low intensity workouts to

get the rest of the pictures and reviews posted.

I did hula for the show & had a great time.

Regarding the hot chocolate mystery and also the chocolate cookie flavor mystery…

I went to the International Cafe and asked if hot chocolate is included in Princess Plus and the staff member looked up my account and tried it and said yes.

And since I have been previously unsuccessful at ordering anything with the chocolate cookie flavor I ordered the iced chocolates cookie drink off the New Grounds menu…and it tastes like a cookie.

THANK YOU!  I have been trying to get a sense of what my out-of-pocket costs will be for, say, a daily latte or other such thing. Going on an 11 day cruise with my kid (a minor) so definitely not worth getting the Plus package!

The captain announced that

“We may leave the harbor before midnight. When we leave we will experience strong seas.”

One of the crew had told us a little while ago that because of the storm when we leave is really up to the coast guard and not the captain and (before the announcement) that’s why we didn’t know when we’d leave.

Since we’re still docked they haven’t opened the shops or casino back up.
