Celebrity Guests' Choir

Hi Everyone,

 

In the past, there have been passenger choirs on trips that were longer with many sea days and  rehearsals were part of the entertainment program. We were lucky to have the music director Simon take this on. When the a capella groups were popular, one group even coordinated the choreography to Salve Regina from Sister Act. The entertainment staff have also organized this activity as well. 

 

Does anyone know if these have started up again or have been discontinued?

My girlfriend loves the cruise choirs. They did not have one on my recent five day summit cruise. Maybe it was just too short a trip.

There was a guest choir on our Transatlantic Barcelona to Cape Liberty last October on Beyond. They gave a great performance!

I saw what appeared to be a guests choir rehearsing on the Constellation last month.  Wasn't sure if it was a Christmas thing or not, but I did see it.

I’ve only seen the Guest Choir on TransAtlantic cruises when there are a lot of sea days. Last time I participated in one, the a cappella group that was performing on the ship led the group. Really fun!

My husband loves participating in the guest's choir.  Unfortunately on the Apex's last TA in November while the practices were fine the entertainment crew thought the public "performance" should wait until almost 11PM on the night before we disembarked AND had the choir members occupied for most of the late afternoon and early evening that day in preparation.  No fun at all for partners of those participating and the late show was a pain for those rising early for disembark.  

 

We're on the Apex TA again this April and if it's run the same way they will have lost a participant.

They had this on my Edge TA in Oct/Nov
