First Time Cruise Ship Tour - can anyone go?

While reviewing the daily planner for the same cruse as ours on the Reflection on January 22nd, I saw on embarkation day, at 2 pm there is a “First Time Cruise Ship Tour” meeting at the Passport Bar on Deck 3.  My husband and brother-in-law are interested in this free tour instead of the $125 tour offered  on days at sea.  Neither of them are first time cruisers.  Anybody know if they can participate?

Methinks this is more of a ship orientation, not what you'd see on the paid tour.

We know it won’t be as thorough as the paid tour but I thought based on the picture and description they might see the bridge.0E0E793E-05B0-4981-A5B4-54410F77E5F4.thumb.jpeg.21d982eb86e810a54302454a554b6d3e.jpeg

No, those first day tours are just an orientation to the public areas of the ship. That is an unfortunate picture selection by Celebrity's infamous IT department.

We booked a tour in the med that had a picture of the Parthenon in Athens and description said it was visiting the famous acropolis.  We escaped the tour an hour or so out of Athens when we learned we were going to a different acropolis and they stop at a minor stop .  Took a cab back and toured it as a visit on our own.  The other tour participants that didn’t bail were just irate when they got back to the ship.  Celebrity finally refunded half of our tour money, but no one but us got to the Parthenon.  So we know too we’ll not to trust pictures.
Thanks for the info.  I knew someone would know.

We were on Equinox last fall and on a whim, decided to take this tour. It was our 11th Celebrity cruise and no one asked us if we were new to the cruise line. We did sign up in advance, I think in Excursions once we got onboard

The tour was brief, covered only public areas and made a point of telling you about all the places where Celebrity is willing to take your money (bars, stores, casino). However, we did learn a few new things about the ship.

We've been on the Behind the Scene tours on all three class ships - absolutely no comparison in the two tours, despite the photo.

If you are sailing in a suite and request it, sometimes your butler can get you a brief tour of the bridge.

Enjoy your cruise.

It is a sales pitch taking you thru the public areas.  A waste of time. You can see it yourself on your own by exploring the ship

Don’t enter any raffles.  If you do you will be bombarded with mail.  You also need to be present to win.   Usually the item  isn’t worth much or you have to spend some to get some.

Enjoy your the cruise you paid for and not to be coned into wasting your time on informercials

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
