The popular answer was that it was too hot and too humid, even with a few windows opened. I'm looking forward to going on the Wonder one day and I'll see for myself. But, that is what my little unofficial survey produced. Good review though. I liked it. I was on the Wonder for a Mediterranean cruise and the solarium was perfect morning, afternoon, eve .... for me. But I can see how it could get uncomfortable in there on a warm and sunny Caribbean day. For me, when it's warm and sunny, I like to be outside in the fresh air ................ if I get too warm, I'll jump in the pool or shower. But everyone has different tolerances: I often find the promenade or theater too cool for my liking, but it doesn't seem to bother other cruisers. Personally, I like the enclosed solariums because I can hang out there on inclement weather days. Another aspect of the Wonder solarium I thought were positive were that the solarium covering extended to the front of the area, so we never had to get up at 0-dark-thirty to find a chair that wasn't covered with a towel or wait until the forward section opened like on the Oasis. Finally, the Wonder Solarium Cafe is larger with more inside tables. On the Oasis, we usually had to sit outside, which was fine on nice days. But then if you wanted to get a coffee refill or a danish, you were supposed to walk around to the port side entrance and then walk back out the center or starboard side exits, making for a big loop. The Wonder had a table set up outside the cafe with drinks & baked goods. And then when it rained on the Oasis, the outside tables weren't covered, so they were all wet. I thought perhaps the staff would come around and wipe off the tables/chairs after the rain stopped, but nooooooooooooooo.

Ok, so we went to GC tonight. A little more expensive than I thought, but we got senior discounts👍 Salad bar was easily equal in variety, and superior in quality. Taco bar was top notch. No fajita meat though, so I'll give that to WJ Fried chicken was moist, crispy skin, and hot. Plus the pieces were recognizable😉 Pulled pork felt like it was from a crock pot. Would have been good with sauce on a bun. Win for GC Ribs, steak, burbon chicken. Ribs were good. Bit I like WJ just as well. Bourbon chicken was tough and old. That was a dissapointment. It's usualky one of their best treats. Steak looks promising 😋 And it was. Thick, juicy, more towards medium, but hands down better than any Royal steak outside of a specialty venue. And yes, I did get some sides They were overall equal to WJ. the fried fish was just ok, and the popcorn shrimp was very tasty. I'd say a tie Laura's nachos. Not a fan of the chip, and there was no shredded lettuce to be found And then we have the yeast rolls.😁 Almost like donuts, so good Dessert was a bust. Peach cobbler was ok, and the cooton candy was very popular. They also had a slurpee machine. But overall it was very picked over. Bad timing I guess. Win to the WJ. So there you go. I still think GC is better than WJ overall 😉
Ret MP Posted January 29, 2023 #104 Share Posted January 29, 2023 @John&LaLa. You do know that the air bubble in the Yeast Roll is to pour honey in, right? LOL

My trip to the Windjammer only cost me a few thousand dollars The lettuce at about the 5 O'clock position looks like it is starting to turn brown and I see a few peas that have been broken open and/or broken. What the hell is that big black thing? What decade did they cook that chicken in? Are those worms at the 10:00 - 11:00 O'clock positions? Can't think of anything to say except that's exactly how I like my steaks cooked. The veggies actually look good. Are they still frozen? And I bet they spared no expense and used that great Cheese Wiz! Nope, it would be sacrilegious to talk bad or jokingly about those yeast rolls. Just fill with Honey. All that makes me want for the WJ. But, you didn't show pictures of Bacon at GC.
