its the life2283 Posted January 24, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2023 Hi, We are sailing in spring 23 on Horizon out of Miami. I’m bring a few discount gift cards from Allstate and AARP to apply to my SS card as we need them. Can these be used to pay for shore excursions or paid restaurants? Thanks for help. john
Rare Saint Greg Posted January 24, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2023 (edited) Yep. You can use them for everything. Just apply them to your account at guest services or a kiosk Edited January 24, 2023 by Saint Greg
Rare PrincessArlena'sDad Posted January 24, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 24, 2023 You can also use them to pay for things in advance, including shore excursions and restaurants. 2
Erreyl Posted January 24, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2023 Does AARP actually send out physical gift cards or do you just apply the code from an email or something? If so, do you do this ahead of your cruise or once on board? Thanks!

It will be an e-card-you will receive an e-mail from AARP- click a link to view the gift card, which will have the card # and pin-you can use that to pay for the cruise, or any purchases on the website. Once onboard, you can apply the amount of the cards to your cabin- Either write down the required #'s or if you will have WIFI, just bring up the e-mails on your phone. You can also download the cards to your G-pay wallet (or I guess Apple Pay)-I'm an Android user

jmoak Posted January 25, 2023 #9 Share Posted January 25, 2023 So, once I am able to put the gift card on to my account. If I needed some cash to take ashore could I then go to guest services to obtain cash that would come off of my account?

Mr Bulldops Posted January 30, 2023 #11 Share Posted January 30, 2023 2 questions... Is there a reason not to wait until you're actually on board to purchase these AARP gift cards if you have the wifi package or will there be a delay in receiving them? Is it still possible to load them to a slot machine and cash them out through the casino? Thanks.

I believe they sometimes sell out. Also depending on what else you have recently charged to your credit card, it could raise a red flag with your credit card company (multiple purchase in different states because you are traveling) and your credit card could be locked until you can call and confirm the charges (hard to do while at sea) and could cause some problems if you also used that credit card for your sail and sign account. robtx100 Posted February 4, 2023 #14 Share Posted February 4, 2023 I'm having issues paying for the Cheers! package with these gift cards. I've used them several times before, but for some reason Carnival website is only taking credit card as payment for Cheers.
robtx100 Posted February 4, 2023 #15 Share Posted February 4, 2023 Ignore my last post. I use dark mode and there was a hidden button I could not see to select gift card.

pcvtmom Posted February 11, 2023 #17 Share Posted February 11, 2023 If you are an AARP member, go to https://www.aarp.org/rewards/transaction/. Be sure you are signed in to your account. Click on "Redeem", and on the drop down menu, "Members Only". Your Carnival gift card choices will show ($450 for a $500 value or $90 for $100 value). Make your choice and follow through with the final purchasing steps.
SailawayKC Posted February 11, 2023 #18 Share Posted February 11, 2023 I had to sign up for rewards and then sign in again to make it work. It took a couple of try but I was finally able to see and buy the gift cards. Worth AARP for the discount.
Aldeya Posted February 12, 2023 #19 Share Posted February 12, 2023 We'd like to use them to pay for our cruise deposit but we have a limited time to do this. If you purchase Carnival gift cards through AARP are they instantly available to use or you have to wait?
