getting a reservation for the steakhouse

we are on the ruby princess 5 day cruise out of galveston  tx april 9 thru the 13 .i want to make reservation for the steakhouse or is that necessary? if so can i do it before hand or do we do when we get on board.

It may be a little more difficult on a 5 day to wait till OB.  
 

If you have a special day in mind, you might book it ahead.  You don’t have to, 

you could just call the dine line from your room or stop by the CG when OB and book.  
 

We always call the dine line and book on our cruise, use OBC, but we take long cruises and more dates to choose.

We have been on several 5 day  cruises with my in-laws.  We book a table for 4 on embarkation day without any problem we like to eat early about 6-6:30. I don't know of the later times would be booked or not.

We just talk to the restaurant manager and they can generally get us in   We do prefer later (after 7:30) for dining

If this is something that you *know* you want to do, then I personally would try to get it booked ASAP via the Medallion App.  Failing that...then once on board go directly to the restaurant and try to arrange.
