BoozinNCruisin Posted February 7, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2023 Is it possible to make a 10am flight from Miami International Airport from the Miami Cruise Port on a Saturday?
FOPMan Posted February 7, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2023 (edited) That’s not exactly the wisest choice, but may be doable if the ship docks on time, you self-disembark, are smong the first off the ship, are flying domestic, take the first available cab, have TSAPre or Clear, and you don’t stop until you get to your gate. Luke gs Daddy Posted February 7, 2023 #4 Share Posted February 7, 2023 I made a 10:15 ,2 weeks ago from Port Canaveral to MCO. Had transportation all lined up and have TSA pre-check. Go for it, live on the edge !!

neptuno Posted February 8, 2023 #6 Share Posted February 8, 2023 Go for it. Depends if you can get off the ship by 7am. Wouldn't hurt to have a back up flight in mind. Try it and please report back to us.
minniemouse75 Posted February 10, 2023 #7 Share Posted February 10, 2023 We are in the same boat. One child has to be back at college so she is flying out of Miami around 10am the day the boat docks. We have TSA precheck, she won't have any luggage and will just need to get to the airport and walk to security. Does everyone still think this is a not going to work? I want to prepare her that she may need to rebook at the airport. I am going in the cab with her and will see her off but still....
FOPMan Posted February 10, 2023 #8 Share Posted February 10, 2023 Any minute before 10 reduces the likelihood of making your flight. 10a is a bit risky: if things work perfectly,, you’re OK. If not, it can be a downhill experience quickly. If she is checking a bag with the airline, that can easily add 20 to 30 minutes. If she inadvertently leaves a liquid or something else that TSA wants to investigate in her carryon, that could take 10-15 minutes. Remember, one needs to usually present themselves in the boarding area 20-30 minutes before flight time. If the airport is crowded, it raises the likelihood of planes being at capacity or are overbooked. That raises the likelihood of flights later in the day also being full. You can only rebook to a flight that has capacity. Additionally, airlines like Southwest require cancellation of a ticket at least 10 minutes (or potentially more) fir at least some fares or the value of the ticket evaporates. I usually shudder at last-minute walk-up fares. Safe travels!
