Give us a range you consider moderate. Given you are from New York, for the most part pricing in Honolulu will be on par with non holiday hotel pricing in Manhattan.

We stayed at the Park Shore Waikiki last month and loved the quiet location and price was decent compared to many surrounding properties. Be sure to pay a bit extra for a Diamond head view.

We stayed at Surfjack for one night before our timeshare week started. Very fun hotel with decent sized rooms/suites and reasonably priced (no extra junk fees).

Start with the Kaimana Beach Hotel, then look at the Park Shore Waikiki, Queen Kapiolani and Prince Waikiki Hotel.
