TGCRUISEO Posted February 14, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2023 Is there a drink package you can purchase for the day on Half Moon Cay? I thought I heard if this.

Rare Guardsy Posted February 14, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 14, 2023 If you sail Princess, their drink packages cover your day on Princess Cay.

Yeah, it used to be something like $25 +18% gratuity but is now just pay as you go. You charge with your cruise card just like on the ship with the only difference being that your onboard drink package does not cover Half Moon Cay. If they can get your charges to your account, they can also clear them. Is there some Bahamian law or tax involved?

Considering some of the other cruise lines' packages apply on their private Bahamian island resorts, this is probably just a case of Carnival corp. nickel & diming their customers. Carnival and HAL both use HMC and I believe neither's drink package applies to HMC drink purchases. Even if there was some sort of computer restriction that prevented the system from billing your drink package while on the island, it seems it could be retroactively applied once you were back on the ship. That's not the case though so this is just a reminder to all that all drinks bought on HMC are billable drinks (unless you bought a HMC cabana package that includes the drinks).
