Ramjet1997 Posted March 11, 2023 #1 Posted March 11, 2023 Arriving in Quebec City on September 15 at 11AM - have a Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre tour and Copper Embossing Experience booked at 11:30 am. Nothing after that and are in Quebec City until 3 PM the next day (Sept 16). So many questions - so little time.....what is walkable - what is not? Where does the Celebrity Summit dock? How close is it to the old city - can you do a self guided walking tour ? Any places to eat that have authentic French food? Are there restaurants walkable from the ship? Any other suggestions/thoughts are very much appreciated! Thanks in advance! PS - We have never been to Quebec.

Also try Whats in Port for excursion ideas they recommend. Old Town is easy from the port and plenty of eateries there. 1

You'll dock very close to town-- there are a few different piers so it's not the same every time but you'll be in easy walking distance to most things. 20 hours ago, Ramjet1997 said: Any places to eat that have authentic French food? Are there restaurants walkable from the ship? Quebec isn't French-- its important to make the distinction. They do speak Canadian French (which is a little bit different from what's spoken in Paris) but the food isn't predominantly French-- its Quebecoise. Totally different. Montreal has a much more dynamic dining scene than QC, so if you are spending time in Montreal at all on this trip might be worth waiting for the special meal there. That being said if you did still want a nice French meal (as opposed to getting something that's a little more local) Le Continental near the Chateau Frontenac is traditional French with a lot of tableside preparation and flambe deserts-- great throwback.
Rare nyyhoneybee Posted March 11, 2023 #4 Posted March 11, 2023 I'll be there for a few days in May so I'm following! I've learned to trust CC recommendations lol
Rare LHT28 Posted March 11, 2023 #5 Posted March 11, 2023 You can find the dock location https://www.portquebec.ca/en/cruises/information-for-cruise-ship-passengers/access-to-docks The schedule for the ship for Sept is not out yet so check back later in the season https://www.portquebec.ca/en/cruises/vessel-schedules/seasonal-schedule

The meals on that special menu are discounted before 5 pm. http://www.auxancienscanadiens.qc.ca/ Edited March 12, 2023 by marys350 2 1
