mfic246 Posted March 13, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2023 Looking to fly in the day before and stay relatively close to the port. Any good recommendations of where to stay? Wouldn't mind waking up and being able to see the ship docked and waiting for us if possible.

Freelancer3 Posted March 13, 2023 #4 Share Posted March 13, 2023 There isn't a hotel at the port. The closest is Holiday Inn Port of Miami. I haven't stayed there to confirm a view, but I think it will have a VV view if you're on the correct side of the building.
Rare cantgetin Posted March 13, 2023 #5 Share Posted March 13, 2023 Remember that there is no sense in getting to the port more than 30 minutes before your scheduled arrival time....so if your hotel has a noon check out, you'll need something to do for at least an hour.

I've stayed at the JW Marriott a few times. I prefer staying in one of the Courtyard Hotels by the airport (which is pretty close to the Port). I'm staying at the Courtyard Blue Lagoon next week for half the price of the downtown Miami hotels.
garycarla Posted March 13, 2023 #7 Share Posted March 13, 2023 Hotels around the port are expensive, especially Fri/Sat night due to all the ships. You can check out the PORTS OF CALL forum here for more info.
jon81uk Posted March 13, 2023 #8 Share Posted March 13, 2023 We stayed at Yotel in downtown Miami, it’s a reasonable price for a basic but brand new hotel, walking distance from Bayside marketplace for dinner or entertainment and there are other places nearby for breakfast. Only a few minutes by Uber/Lyft to the port.

Suggestion from a local: try to find the time to go to South Beach if you haven’t been. It’s a must see at least once and a great place to get an ocean front dinner and people watch. 1
Rare CineGraphic Posted March 14, 2023 #10 Share Posted March 14, 2023 Good deals can sometimes be found on Hotwire for Novotel Brickell. We've stayed there twice and loved it. Brickell is very walkable, and the free People Mover can get you to Bayside Market, City Center, etc. A/K/A Brickell is OK......weird set-up since it's also condos.
