Holidayfun141 Posted March 18, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2023 We have a decision to make whether to book the Queen Mary2 or the Queen Victoria going through the Bay of Biscay, we love the Queen Victoria but haven’t travelled on the Queen Mary 2 any advice would be appreciated. We normally book lower decks but only high decks are available.
BigMac1953 Posted March 18, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2023 The BoB can be lumpy or a mill pond, at all times of the year. To be guaranteed a smooth ride, QM2 is the way to go. On the other hand, some folks like to be reminded they're on a ship. Both ships have their own attributes and we like both. You don't mention the itineraries, which from my point of view would be the deciding factor.
Host Hattie Posted March 18, 2023 #3 Share Posted March 18, 2023 Which itinerary do you prefer? I might be tempted to book QM2 just to see if you like her, not everyone does !
Holidayfun141 Posted March 18, 2023 Author #4 Share Posted March 18, 2023 Thanks for the replies , both itineraries are the same , but we’ve also realised the dates we looked at are school holidays so we always avoid those cruises. So it’s back to the Brochures . We are so happy to have Cruise Critic to ask questions.

Any children aboard will be well-behaved and fairly invisible.

majortom10 Posted March 18, 2023 #7 Share Posted March 18, 2023 If it was a similar cruise and itinerary then it would be QM2 for me every time. Dont worry about BoB too much we have returned today on P&O Iona and had a relatively smooth crossing both ways.
Holidayfun141 Posted March 18, 2023 Author #8 Share Posted March 18, 2023 Host Hattie We we’re looking Cunard Cruises in February and April 2025
Host Hattie Posted March 18, 2023 #9 Share Posted March 18, 2023 If you're considering the Canaries, I'd go for April for better weather, although the February trip on QM2 has an overnight in Funchal which would be tempting. I wouldn't worry too much about school holidays for this time of year.
