I will be in The Spirit next August visiting Croatian ports and your report gives some insites. Any restaurant recomendation in Dubrovnik? I looked at a few restaurants but for decent food the price was high. For example the anchovies I had in Kotor for 8 euro exactly the same dish was 18.5 euros. Maybe look outside the old city and it's tourist prices. When looking I noted that most were eating hamburgers or spaghetti bolognese. Not what I wanted to have.
Rare drron29 Posted May 8, 2023 Author #828 Share Posted May 8, 2023 A woman was swimming off these rocks. Sea kayaks everywhere. Up to 75% of buildings in the old town had to be rebuilt after the 1990's war. Dubrovnik was heavily attacke by artillery fire for a considerable period.

Rare gnome12 Posted May 8, 2023 #830 Share Posted May 8, 2023 What I particularly remember seeing from the wall walk in Dubrovnik was two-toned roofs. The faded parts were old tiles; the bright ones had been replaced after being destroyed in the war. (By the way, I have done the wall walk twice; I don't remember paying anywhere near €35 for it, but may memory may be faulty.)

Rare drron29 Posted May 8, 2023 Author #836 Share Posted May 8, 2023 Looked at a few restaurants but decided against eating in town. Unfortunately no markets on so back to the ship. Rojaan had already eaten lunch so I went to Deck 11 for a pizza. Half 4 cheese and half sausage. Wind Surf left whilst trivia was on and began raising it's sails. I had time to dart to the window and get a couple of shots.

Rare drron29 Posted May 9, 2023 Author #838 Share Posted May 9, 2023 Back to Atlantide for dinner. I started with this red. But was then given this wine by the sommelier after talking about our stay in Pinhao where this wine is from. Nice. Rojaan began with the foie gras and I with the laced king prawns. Rojaan had the king prawns and I the miso glazed cod. No desserts again.

Rare drron29 Posted May 10, 2023 Author #845 Share Posted May 10, 2023 The main design of the Croatian power stations was carried out by this man who is now remembered in the USA and around the world. His name Nikola Tesla. The object slightly to the left was an old Croatian version of a mouse trap.

Rare RachelG Posted May 10, 2023 #848 Share Posted May 10, 2023 We went on that excursion. One of our favorites and I would do it again. It is so beautiful there, and George got to wander without anyone yelling at him. 1
Rare drron29 Posted May 10, 2023 Author #849 Share Posted May 10, 2023 Now what is left of the first power station Near here I bought some dried figs from a sprightly 87 year old woman. A bit grumpy as I only bought the smallest container. But back to the water.
