What can I expect in the way of a room. Can anybody tell me their experience with a guarantee booking?

They're essentially guaranteeing you that you'll be in a B4 Veranda cabin or better, when all the dust clears. You can look at the deck plans to see where the B4s are located. Usually more forward or more aft and on lower decks than Bs 1-2-3. We did 9136 A4 Veranda on Riviera 12/2021. Farthest aft port A on deck 9. But we loved it!

We have had a guarantee cabin at least twice, once iirc we got a cabin number about 2 weeks out, the other time it was available just before boarding. I don't recall the exact specifics, but however the logistics worked it wasn't an issue for dropping our bags. Both times we sailed in the category guaranteed - no upgrade for us, we didn't really expect one based on reports here. We were happy both times 😊
