Match Status or Military Discount

We were able to get the military discount for our MSC cruise. Does it also pay to try to get Match Status as we have high status on many cruise lines?

Also, if we are in the Yacht Club, are we entitled to any other discounts on board?

I was told by MSC rep that you can have either military discount or status match but not both.

My understanding is that the full 10% Military Discount can only be applied to YC Interior staterooms. It’s limited to 5% for any stateroom above YC Interior. At least be able to get the status match discounts. So get your status match as you will then be eligible for the sailings that have the hefty % + promotions. The deal may be over, but Explora Journeys was offering a cross-line incentive sizable promotion for MSC Diamond members.

I tried to get the discount for a Royal Suite, and was told that you get nothing at the "YC3" level (I guess that's a RS?).  Not fair, IMO, but it's their ballgame...  😞
