I've participated in a few of those.  Popular gifts were Tervis cups and coffee mugs, beach towels.

for meet and greet?  

 

there was a pretty wide variety of, uh, quality when i used to go to them.  i always thought food items related to the cruisers hometown were pretty cool (bbq sauce, chocolates, spice packs, coffee, etc) 

 

but i sure remember some more boisterous attendees letting it be know they were still stuck with the crapola gift if anyone wanted to trade with them.  kinda tacky but i get their frustration to a certain degree.

I've gotten a variety of cute items in the gift exchanges I've participated in.  Shot glasses, chapstick, hair ties, hangover drink mixes, hand sanitizer, candy, gum, wickless candle in a can, key chains.  So many fun things that we've gotten and If I don't use them, I regift them on the next cruise.

Haven’t done one for awhile but always liked getting something from the the home town of that person.

My favorite that I’ve gifted is a souvenir deck of cards from my hometown, I also like to put in a duck for the fun for them to keep or hide.

I'm organizing a gift exchange for our cruise group in May - and I've already begun making some gifts for it (I'm a tumbler maker and do resin arts as well - so I've made some little duck magnets and keychains to both hid and add to my gift bags.  I've begun designing some tumblers for our MDR serving staff as well as our cabin steward,  LOL all will also be Carnival and duck themed 😁 )
