Covid testing prior to embarkation on 18th April 2023

Hi.   Im flying out to Tokyo from the UK on the 16th April and embarking on the Quest on the 18th April.

 

I dont particularly want to queue dockside for a 59 dollar test only to (hopefully not) that I have covid so would prefer to do a test prior to flying.

 

Can anyone advise who I can get this from please.

Is this an Azamara thing in Japan only? I haven't needed covid test to board a cruise anywhere in over a year.

Check posts on April 3 and your cruise.  I posted a testing company that does online proctored tests with your own kits.  You can do it when your flight arrives.  Yes…. You have to take a Covid test before you board.  It is not an Azamara thing.  It is Japan.  ( crazy since you don’t need one to enter Japan). For our cruise(3rd) - they had extra staffing and those that needed a Covid test did not have long waits as the 19th did.

I guess you have not cruised from Japan, Australia or New Zealand during that time.

As far as I can see, it is for all cruises embarking in Japan. Our 2 in the last 30 days required testing. Azamara,  however, is the only one not allowing self monitored tests.

we used www.breatheassured.com for our last Azamara cruise that required a test.  Very easy online video test with results emailed immediately.
