Wishing on a star Posted April 8, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2023 I am a Europe newbie, and wonder if it is similar to boarding times here in the US. I am wondering when to schedule transfers to Civitavecchia. Thanks for any insight!
Rare Lady Arwen Posted April 8, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 8, 2023 We’ve sailed from Civitavecchia a few times on different lines and we usually boarded just after 11:00 am. However, things could change on your particular sailing. We spend two nights in a Civitavecchia hotel prior to embarking and have never used a Princess transfer from Rome, so can’t help with that. Married15 Posted April 8, 2023 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2023 Last summer we got to the port right at 11am and walked right on. No lines. This is when they had to check your negative covid test as well. It was very stream lined.
Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted April 9, 2023 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2023 There is no *significant* difference in boarding times at *most* ports. It would be something a bit on the unusual side (such as a mandatory Coast Guard inspection in the US) that would delay boarding an hour or so. The schedules are designed in pretty much the same way everywhere in order to make "turn day" as efficient as possible. There is a finite amount of time to "get everything done".
