Rare DaKahuna Posted April 22, 2023 Author #176 Share Posted April 22, 2023 We attended an hilarious presentation in the theater at 1100 today. He’s going to be making quite a few presentations as the cruise progresses and we are planning to attend a few of yhem. For now we are relaxing after lunch in the Retreat and have the lounge all to ourselves

There is no way we could get a chair between the couch and the railing on ours. I think you were in what has now been reclaased as AquaClass Sky Suites .. Yes it was one of those that is on a slant 6132. The cabin is also a little bit larger. We had to move to another SS doing a B2B and noticed the difference in the depth of the cabin. It was about 2 feet. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

I do like that the newer ships have thermostats that show you the temperature setting in degrees. They not be 100% accurate but are easier to get to a comfortable setting than color coded dots on a round dial.

Rare DaKahuna Posted April 22, 2023 Author #182 Share Posted April 22, 2023 This is our first M-class cruise and we have done only 1 E-class and that was on Edge February 2020! I do not mind the knob thing we have and after a few adjustments seem to have found a comfortable setting we both can agree with.

Does it say Fisher Price on it anywhere?

There are three things related to glass that I like about M class design: 1. 2 story windows in the MDR looking out over the stern. Century class had them, too. 2. Glass elevators looking out over the port side of the ship. 3. And those interesting port hole windows installed on the floor of the Oceanview Cafe.

I am sad to say that we have not made it to the MDR or OVC so far but it’s only the end of day 2. I have seen those glass elevators a number of times but have not had the patience to wait for one so I have been taking the stairs.

None Yet. The selection has not been that good so far. For rums, Bumbu is here. I have had the last shot from two different Bottles of Pyrat XO in two different bars but have not really ‘spread my wings’ yet. For me it was Oceanview Cafe as for the second night in a row there wasn't any available seating in BLU without significant wait (first night, I just went to Tuscan instead). I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot of evenings at the Oceanview sunset terrace having nibbles for dinner unless I'm going super early to BLU. You made the right choice booking a suite on this trip that secures access to Luminae.
Rare DaKahuna Posted April 23, 2023 Author #191 Share Posted April 23, 2023 @Fly and Sail I think that it is a combination of two things, full guest capacity in Suites and Aqua class and a limited number of speciality restaurants. With only Tuscan and Sushi on 5 there are not many other alternatives available. We did note that Luminae was relatively empty after about 7:30 pm and talked about changing our routine to eat later rather than earlier. We can always use the afternoon snacks in the Retreat to tide us over. Maybe you could take a look at how Blu is later in the evening as well.
Rare DaKahuna Posted April 23, 2023 Author #192 Share Posted April 23, 2023 Good morning. This morning’s breakfast food porn is brought to you by room service. As you can see we used the ‘seats’ at the end of the bed to form a table. It worked but the fruit plate had to be set aside. Maybe later we’ll try the table on the balcony. 5

Not sure what offerings they have in the way of wines but it is what it is. Here is a card our Sommelier gave us at lunch. I signed us up for the Vuevu Clicquot, even though I am sure i do not know how to pronounce it based on numerous recommendations seen on here. Does every cruise offer an array of tastings? We'll be on the Millennium for a 7-day Alaskan cruise in July and I see a few wine events on our list of options to choose from, but nothing like this. I'm quite impressed. My husband and I love wine tastings and go to Napa Valley quite regularly and are members of a few wine clubs.

We cancelled Petit Chef. Just could not convinve myself it was worth it. Doing the Vueve Clicquot Dinner instead. I would love to do the Vueve Clicquot dinner. Did you know that was available ahead of time or did they tell you once you were onboard? I'm curious if it might be an option on our Alaskan northbound cruise in July. Vueve Clicquot is one of the few bubblies I can drink without getting a headache.

This is a 15-day cruise so I am sure that is the explanation for why there are so many of those events. I do not recall if they were all advertised pre-cruise in the planner or not. They may show as one event in the planner with multiple days being available. 2
