Good description. In the MDR we ordered the lobstah and NY strip. Made it more of a meal than the tail alone.  Baked Alaska was pleasantly delicious.

I normally go with the surf and turf, and did the last lobster night (day 7 ?) but tonight I decided, as you can see from above, to go all Surf!  Believe it or not, I was quite full after the escargot, shrimp cocktail, and the two lobster tails — but I did mange to eat that wonder Luminae Baked Alaska.

I think you meant that we are currently on Mountain Time.  We switch to Pacific overnight tonight

Damn, you are correct.  I blame that mistake on the Fire and Ice’s I had.

Don’t scare me like that… at first glance I though it was a picture of our stateroom door.

But we’ve not set our room service trays outside.  Our Butler has been very good about picking them up in the room.

I do not see any yellow dots.

Haha on the 9th floor 100 is a regular stateroom but i can see that on the decks below they are suites (large balconies).

I’m extremely surprised how late the disembarkation is tomorrow compared to how early they kick you off the ship in SEA/FLL.

I was initially assigned in Group 33 which is 10:15am but I have to pick up a rental car so I changed it to Group 4 and will probably even do walkoff.

Which lobster tail was better? Luminae or MDR?

New topic, Anyone boarding the Millennium this summer is in for a treat via onboard entertainment.

Duo Rio is a delightful couple who sing in Rendezvous and the Sunset. YouTube channel here for a sneak peak https://youtube.com/@duorio7691.

VVO the two aerialists also phenomenal. Their 45 minute performance last night was just awesome.

I am thinking of staying in LA for one night now when we do this cruise next April.  I am curious as to where (location and company) you will be getting your car rental.

Oh, and did you decide to see the battleship?

Thank you.

Thank you. I was looking at an Enterprise location in San Pedro.

I have to say the ship management is not taking the sickness of passengers very seriously or do much to prevent more.

Passengers are doing their part and agree to isolate themselves yet the ship health management team lets bags labeled “infectious waste” sit in the hallway for hours. Same with the room service items.

Hundreds of guests pass by this trash until it finally gets picked up. Why isolate the guests in the first place if they don’t care?

Not MDR. Way overcooked and small. We are booked in Portland Maine for Lobster Fest in August. Look forward to a real seafood treat this summer!

What is your plan on getting you and your luggage there from the pier?  Looks a little far to walk (with luggage) and almost too short for a taxi?  Does Hertz pick you up?

I will take an UBER there and I only have a small carryon plus backpack. Could have booked pickup ($20) but wasnt sure if that works well plus I don’t have a local cellphone number for them to coordinate.

I’m traveling for two months so the downsides of having big luggage (waiting for baggage delivery, having to taxi/uber everywhere) are just too much. If I need something along the way I just buy it which - since the laundry calamity - is pretty much a requirement now anyhow. Time to use all these Saks 5th Ave credits from American Express that I collected over the years. 😂

Btw per the disembarkation information we arrive at Berth 93 so walking to Hertz is out of the question. From 92 I’d probably just walk there.

When you have time afterward, please let me know how that worked out.  I am asking because I think we will be doing something very similar a year from now when we get tossed off the ship at San Pedro.  We will likely be renting from Enterprise which has a location in/near the Crowne Plaza which is across the street from your Hertz location.

I know I joked about it, but I am sorry that your clothes got messed up by Celebrity--esp now that I know how light you travel.

Are you planning on seeing the battleship?

Have you checked the prices? They are pretty nuts as far as even standard vehicles are concerned. I just used some Hertz points left in my account and they didn’t consider dropoff at LAX a one way.

A one day rental with pickup at San Pedro and dropoff at LAX is $100 total for a full size car for the dates we need next May.  This is for Enterprise.  It's a little high and I certainly wouldn't want to rent a car for a week.  My wife's employer will get us $10 off on that.  Enterprise will pick you up for free (link) so there's that.

I liked the sides, rice pilaf, that came with the MDR better. Both tails were flavorful but if I could only eat one, it would be the MDR.  The champagne sauce with the Luminae lobster tail was just a little rich for me.  That might have been because I ate it last.

Mine was not overcooked.  And small is relative.  I had a good sized tail for what it was.  I had no expectation of it being a big Maine lobster and it was not.

Interestingly enough, the tails were very similar in size.  The waiter cut the lobster from the tail on the MDR one, the tail was presented without the shell for the Luminae Lobster.

Are the NHL and NBA playoff games televised?

I am not 100% sure.  I do not think our room TV has been off of Channel 1, the Navigational channel, more than a couple of times.

I have seems some sportsball on the TV screen above the casino bar when wondering through there.    BTW, the casino bar is my least favorite bar on the ship.  For an unknown reason the two drinks I had from there was just not up to the standard of others.

IF you are not in the Retreat and like Mai Tai’s .. in my opinion the Pool Bar makes the best one on the ship, outside the Retreat.
