Mekong River Cruise Port or Starboard?

On a Northbound Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap cruise is there a better side to be on?  Does it matter?

It really doesn't matter...It isn't like Europe - where you can walk off the boat into town.  You are often moored in the middle of the river - and tendered to shore.

You will go up to the open or covered deck for most sightseeing. There are things to see in spots on both sides of the ship. Remember the ships are small and it is very easy to get anywhere on board.
