This is the SS Keewatin a former steamship of the Canadian Pacific Railway cruising the Great Lakes. She was born in Scotland July 1907 at the Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company in Govan Glasgow. She is leaving Port McNicoll Ontario for Kingston Ontario after getting some much needed work done at a ship yard in Hamilton.

Looking across the Bay to Station Pier, about 5-6 km . No cruise ships scheduled until late October, however, a couple of Navy ships in town for ANZAC Day. The closer ship, HMAS Adelaide, is berthed at the main cruise dock. Over the back is the superstructure of the HMAS Sydney. Lastly,being photobombed by a tug.

So much of our lives revolve around mealtimes. When heads of state gather, there is almost always a banquet of some sort. For weddings, there is a rehearsal dinner prior to the event and as lavish a reception dinner as the family can afford after the ceremony. Favorite foods are a hallmark of birthday celebrations, with a bonus of cake. Thanksgiving has its turkey and Easter has any number of regional traditional meals. Christmas too. I even remember fish-sticks on Friday at school way back when. Why is food so important? Most of us have never known when it was scarce and hard to get. We celebrate with food because it gives life, happiness and security. Food unto itself can be a celebration like this perfectly smoked Tri-tip we prepared for, well...Tuesday evening.

Recently went to Venice and Florence on a land trip.  I took over 2000  photos!  So much beauty, talent, art, architecture, imagination, history, culture, stained glass, blown glass, wine, food, it's hard to take it all in in just a few days.  This clock made an impact on me as something I hadn't seen before.  A 24 hour, counter-clockwise, upside down clock.
