Just curious, does anyone know what champagne/ sparkling wine is given to Penthouse Suites on Riviera?

I can't remember because we had our butler swap it out for a bottle of wine.

I don’t like anything too sweet. Maybe I can switch it out for a Pinot Grigio!

I think you can only swap it for the house red or white.  I don’t remember it as being sweet.

The Champagne selection changes over time. In the past 7 years it has been a Brut, so not sweet at all. Before that there was a Brut Rose, so more juicy but still dry.

Three weeks ago on The Riviera the Champagne in our Penthouse suite was OK. Did not recognize the name and do not remember. Was a Brut and not too sweet. We are semi-picky but drank and enjoyed the bottle. They provide a stopper which worked well for us as we finished the bottle on the second night. Did an OK job of keeping the wine fresh.

Do not expect a high end wine......but OK, at least by my standards.

 

The refrigerator in the cabin will accommodate several bottles of wine. I had to take out some of the soft drinks and the middle shelf. Enjoyed some outstanding Italian white wine we brought from some of the ports.

On Riviera in March our bottle of was a Heidsieck &Co Monopole Blue Top Brut. We found it to be a reasonable quality champagne.
