Dining package cancelation

We cruise May 23, we wanted the dining package but there was only one package available and Royal would not budge for us to get the package for two.So I booked one and hope that another would open up. My question is, what is the dead line to cancel the package if I can’t book another?

I cancelled our udp on board on day 1 for a full refund last March

The planner usually locks you from further purchases/cancellations about two days out.

worst case the second will have to pay for each restaurant.

Is there somewhere or someone that I can call and they could make a exception and add my wife even I it sold out?

I have heard of it being done on board.
