RT Vancouver, customs question

We live in Ohio and are sailing out of Vancouver.  We fly from CLE to ORD to YVR.  I assume we will need to go through customs in Vancouver.  Coming home, we fly from YVR to SFO to CLE.  Where do we go through customs on our return?  Vancouver and SFO?

You will preclear customs and immigration in Vancouver. Your arrival in SFO will be considered domestic.

Agree with 1025cruise, you will pre-clear US Customs in Vancouver, so your connection in SFO will be easy!.

YVR is one of the airports that uses the CBP MPC App, allowing you to submit your whole family's info ahead of time and simplify the customs process too

Don't worry about Customs. Worry about Immigration. Customs is barely a thing anymore.

We have done three recent round trip cruises from Vancouver, including last year when the ArriveCan forms had to be filled out . Arrival back was painless. The purser's office asked us to fill out our customs declaration forms a couple of days before arrival and place them in a box.  On arrival in Vancouver we simply walked off and never spoke to an officer.

At YVR there are US CBP officers working there.
