gadaboutgal Posted June 1, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2023 I had a very disappointing day in St Thomas today. I must use a scooter to get around-can't do without. Scooter easily breaks down to fit in a trunk so that is how I get around in a taxi to a beach or town. Unfortunately, there are no private taxis at Crown Bay. There are only the "truck buses" which are not accessible. We are returning to St Thomas for Christmas cruise and I have searched for any and all ways to get around other than ship excursions. Has anyone found an easy way to rent an auto or to get a car model taxi?
Ms411 Posted June 1, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2023 There are several taxis that specialize in providing accessible transportation, and the one I know of uses a van. The name of the taxi company that I am familiar with is ItCouldBeWorse.com. I posted the link to his website in a thread that has wheelchair in the title, and I think I posted the link to a YouTube video that a wheelchair using cruiser posted a while back. Don't know if there's a rental car company that has accessible vehicles.
gadaboutgal Posted June 1, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted June 1, 2023 Thank you for response. It seems the website for ItCouldBeWorse.com is now for sale. I will keep googling though. Thanks again.
Rare Essiesmom Posted June 1, 2023 #4 Share Posted June 1, 2023 Have you googled accessible Caribbean? John has a website that lists accessible excursions for many islands…. EM
