Kamfish642 Posted June 4, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 4, 2023 We decided not to talk a tour of Alesund but rather walkabout on our own. Any suggestions on a good walking path or "must see" points in walking distance?
hallasm Posted June 4, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 4, 2023 (edited) You might get some inspiration here - also a HoHo service. ... or in this topic is from 2022, might also serve as inspiration. Edited June 4, 2023 by hallasm
Senga Posted June 5, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 5, 2023 Alesund is very hilly and, if you have ANY mobility issues, walking is not an option. We did the 70 minute City Train and the highlight was the view from Mount Askla. Can't believe people would actually walk all the way up; must be in FANTASTIC shape. edinburgher Posted June 5, 2023 #4 Share Posted June 5, 2023 Popular Alesund is a FAQ and there are many previous threads you could read if you use the search facility under your username, although this thread with multiple posts would probably give you all or most of the info you are looking for if you read it through: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2826391-alesund-norway/#comment-62526938
PhillyTravelBug Posted June 5, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 5, 2023 We have no agenda either. The top of Mount Askla is a must. This port stop is too beautiful to not just explore on our own. We see in port for a good amount of hours and a Hop on Hop off may be the way to go.
