herbanrenewal Posted June 11, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2023 I assumed the port in old town San Juan would be where I start my Cruise on the Viva in February, but someone who has sailed recently said that they use Pan Am port for home port location. I like to book hotel near port for pre-cruise night, but now I dont know where I need to be.

ggTexasGal Posted June 11, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2023 We booked our pre-cruise stay at the Caribe Hilton. It was a nice property, and not a terribly far ride to get to the port the next morning.

NCL cruise Embarkation in San Jaun is from Pan Am port....As mentioned, the cab ride from Old Town is not too bad, but there are several hotels near the port. I try to stay at Marriott properties so stayed at the Sheraton Resort and Casino inwhen we sailed the Epic in March 2022 . Easy 5 min to the pier.

Old San Juan is only used for day port calls by NCL. 1
rnfulk Posted June 26, 2023 #6 Share Posted June 26, 2023 You should stay in Old San Juan anyway. It’s a quick ride on embarkation morning and there is lots to see there. I stayed at the Sheraton my last cruise from there and have a less expensive hotel in Old San Juan booked for my Jan 2024 Viva cruise.
