1island2go Posted June 13, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2023 Looking at May 8th or October 10th sailing that goes around Ireland. Anyone out there that has done this cruise at these times that can comment about the cruise? Wondering mostly about weather and sea conditions. I know what happened this year weather won't be the same as next year but curious if you had a good experience and would do it again. Thanks
Victress2007 Posted June 13, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 13, 2023 We did this cruise in May of 2018. The weather ended up being really nice, it surprised us. We were comfortable in jeans and t-shirts with a light jacket or sweater. It is very windy once you get up north. It was a great cruise! Rare Tak8 Posted June 13, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2023 I'm also looking at the May 8th cruise. There was a terrific live thread from the Star in May doing that exact itinerary. Do a search to read it.

Rare insidecabin Posted June 14, 2023 #7 Share Posted June 14, 2023 We were on the first one this year 11May here is the live from by @ConnieTact Its a very good itinerary but do check as they are not all the same, there are slight differences. long days and tenders. There are 2 more this year to also look at. We had very good weather but Ireland is what it is . there was a couple of time the ship rocked enough to have to settle the coat hangers and make sure the bathroom door was shut properly. We will do it again if the prices drop the same as they did for May ones this year after final. Keep an eye on the two later this year for pricing trends they have been dropping steadily for a while already . 2024 are currently over double where they dropped to this May(for the cabins we look for). NOTE May 8th is down to go from Portsmouth not Southampton.
