Linaeve Posted June 16, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2023 Hi All! I'm wondering if anyone has done the "wilderness Cruise & SIlverking Lodge Seafood Feast" in Ketchikan, Alaska. It has what looks like a fantastic seafood boil at the Silverking Lodge. However, I know a lot of places use Old Bay seasoning in their seafood boils and I am not a fan. Anyone know if they use Old Bay in their feast? Thanks!

rsldonk Posted June 16, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 16, 2023 No they didn't use Old Bay. If I remember right it was just like saltwater boiled. It was still pretty good. Crab was dungeness 1
Jldevlin Posted June 17, 2023 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2023 We just did this a few weeks ago ... It was so good. They say all you can eat and they mean it.. they constantly walk around with big bowls of crab and give huge portions. I am pretty sure I ate at least 3 crabs maybe 4. It is dungeness boiled in salt water just like it should be.
SJSULIBRARIAN Posted June 17, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2023 Have done this tour and loved it. SilverKing Lodge is great and the seafood boil very nice. Highly recommend this tour.

Said they were going to check for me and haven't heard back yet (although they have been super kind with some other questions as well). Thank you all so much! I appreciate the responses!
Rare Crew News Posted June 21, 2023 #7 Share Posted June 21, 2023 I didn't see evidence or taste of Old Bay flavoring in my three visits to the Silverking Lodge. There was only one serving of seafood dumped in the middle of the table with no additional servings provided. Delicious and large chocolate chip cookies were baked by the owner's daughter just before we arrived. Loved the eagle feeding!!!
OlsSalt Posted June 21, 2023 #8 Share Posted June 21, 2023 How many people per table would share the one "seafood dump"? Sorry to learn there are no longer additional servings. Thnx.

alwaysfrantic Posted June 22, 2023 #10 Share Posted June 22, 2023 I am allergic to one ingredient in Old Bay. While I didn’t do this tour I asked at every seafood place I ate. Seems they never use it in AK. Luckily.
